Marvin Donta Barrett Jr.

MARVIN DONTA BARRETT, (A.K.A. Lor Mary Escobar), was born on January 20, 1991 to Monica Watkins-Hayes and Marvin Barrett in Baltimore, Maryland . He suddenly departed this life on January 31, 2015. Marvin received his education in the Baltimore City Catholic School System. Marvin accepted Christ at the age 10 and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church and was an active member of the youth and Young Adult Ministry. While in Middle School he worked as a Youth Worker for the Baltimore City Youth Works Program. Upon completion of his education, Marvin was employed by Toy R Us and Odaba Mexican Grill. His current employer was The Family Dollar Corporation. Marvin was known to all as a smooth and cool young man who took great pride in his appearance, especially his hair. He was quick to give the barber his “pink slip” if he failed to do the job right. Marvin was so conceited that he looked in the mirror all the time and loved taking “selfies”. Marvin loved his family and was very devoted and protective of his mother and sisters. Marvin was very special to his Mom, he was her second job. He was very vocal about his Mom and known to say “not a woman alive could take my Mama's place” Marvin had a very special bond with Big Marvin. He enjoyed invading his sister Markya's space and privacy by searching her cell phone, deleting numbers and telling guys to stay away from his sister. His sister MyKeara, whom he loved to agitate became his personal photographer. He had a very unique relationship with his “little /big brother” Michael, who he called “Nug” - most times you could not tell the big brother” from the little brother because they both acted the same age. Both he and Nug were always in completion for attention and affection and getting on each nerves. Marvin understood and knew once he entered Ma Ma’s house that the rules were in place and the first thing was to “pull them pants up”. As a young child, he enjoyed train rides with his homie Pop-Pop. One of Marvin's greatest pleasures in life was spending time and debating with his Granny Sharon. His favorite expression was “I about to” and he was always about to do something. His hobbies were: calling and texting his mother 24/7, and asking “Ma where you at, I'm hungry”. He loved BBW(Big Beautiful Women). Rapping, exercising, eating sweets, watching T.V. And just relaxing /chilling. Marvin Leaves ti mourn;Monica Watkins-Hayes; father, Marvin Barrett; step-dad, Michael Hayes; sisters Markya and Mykeara; brothers, Michael, Jr and Montez; grandmothers, Valerie (Ma-Ma) Sharon (Granny); grandfather, Danny (Pop-Pop); aunt, Sharika; uncles, Big Tony, Gregory, and Tyreek; godmother, Kim. Also he leaves behind to mourn his death, his two favorite cousins, Kenny and Lil Tony; best friend, Aldo. He enjoyed spending time with his “road dogs” - Precious, Lamont, Poo, Nakia, Jamal, Eric, Juan and Gill, just yo name a few, a number of aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends. Marvin was loved by everyone.
