Martha L. Ranson

Martha "Louise" Ranson was known to her friends and family as Louise or Weezie. Louise was born to the late Martha and Bennie Wilkes Sr. on October 22, 1951 in North Carolina. Soon after her birth, Mr. and Mrs. Wiles relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where they settled in and started their family with their first-born child. Louise received her education through Baltimore City Public School System. She later pursued a career as a Nursing Assistant where she found passion rendering geriatric care. Louise had two sons, Tyrone Wilkes and James Wilkes. Later in life, Louise met and married Ronald Ranson and from that union they had a daughter Ronshai Ranson. Her children were the light of her life, in which she displayed in a protective manner. While working as a Nursing Assistant, Louise met her best friend and sister Roslyn Williams. The two were inseperable and often referred to as "Thelma and Louise". Louise was compassionate with nurturing spirit. She was entrusted to care for the children of many family members and friends. She was known to give children nicknames that they carried from childhood to adulthood. Weezie had an unmatched skillset in the kitchen. Her home was always to "go to" for cookouts and dinners. She had many requests to prepare dished for others. She enjoyed a good game of spades and listening to "oldies but goodies". She quietly departed this life on July 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gregory, Donald Ray and Bennie Wilkes Jr., parents Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Wilkes Sr., sister Yvonne Wilkes and son Tyrone Wilkes. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished through the lives of her husband: Ronald Ranson; brothers Alexander Wilkes (Rhonda) and Donald Wilkes; sister Wanda Sidney; children James Wilkes and Ronshai Jones (Terrance); grandchildren Sh'Mia, Sh'Nia, Sh'Nita, Shanell, Shiniece, Tyrone, Shannon, Shataya, Alexis, Dre'Vaughn, Kyjeira, TaNya, Brianna,Shariya, SemaJ, Brian, Imani, Jaylen and Amiya; nieces Tamera, Danita, Shawne, Ashley, Taelor, and LeShae; nephews Jeffrey, Jabrill (late), Jermaine, Kevin, Anton (late); best friend Roslyn and a host of aunts, uncles, great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
