Martha O. Branch

Martha O.Branch, daughter of the late Nathan C. and Rose Irby, was born, February 21, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland. She slipped away peacefully to glory in her sleep, after a short illness.She received her education from the Baltimore City Public Schools System. Martha was a very loving and caring person, loving mother, grand, other, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, loving sister, aunt, friend, hard worker, mother to others, and provider who would help anybody in need. Martha worked for Union Memorial Hospital and the Baltimore City Government as a Center Director of Cultural Arts at Dunbar High School. She retired in 1992 from the Cultural Arts Center and was a Community Activist. Martha found Christ at a very young age. She was a member pf St. Francis Xavier, the former St. James and John, and long, faithful and active member of St. Wenceslaus Church. She married the late Archie Branch Jr., and out of this union, twelve children were born.Martha was a gem at heart, she; loved bingo, shopping, and most pf all “Atlantic City”. Martha had numerous friends, and where ever she went she left her mark of kindness. She loved cooking and would feed anybody. Whenever anyone needed her, she never, said no. During her retirement she enjoyed: talking on the phone to her family and friends, spending hours of fun with her children, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. Doodle and Malcom Jr. (MJ) kept her on her toes, and her newest great-great granddaughter Kamyh Holley whom she nicked named Pollyanna kept her spirits high.Her two special guys, whom she called her “Big Boys”, Andre and Malcom Sr., who loved, assisted, helped and cared for her, and were there whenever she needed them.Martha leave to mourn her children, Jerry Branch, Audrey Wesson, Aleta Branch, Marsha Branch, Brenda Branch, Archie Branch III {preceded her in death), Denise Branch, Yvette Snipes, Christopher Branch, Michael Branch, Joseph Branch, Maria B.Spence; special daughters, Vanessa Warren and Stephanie Hayes; god-daughters, Sharon Loney and Wanda Haynes; brother, Nathan Irby Jr.; sisters, Helen Loney, Yvonne Greene, Rosie Prince; one brother-in-law, Willie Prince, five son-in-laws, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her closest and dearest friends Hattie Moore, Annie Manning, Effie Burrus, and a host of other family and friends.
