Marsha Miller

A Time To Be BornMarsha A. Miller was born Marsha Ann Johnson to Herbert and Lucy Johnson on April 11, 1950 in Harrisburg, PA. She was the youngest daughter of six children, and grew up sheltered and protected by her siblings. Marsha’s timid and soft-spoken demeanor was one of her most appealing attributes. She had a nurturing spirit, a quiet nature, and a heart of gold.A Time To LiveMarsha began her formal education in Harrisburg, PA and ended it in the Bronx, New York- where she graduated from Walton High School. She later attended the College of New Rochelle in New York City and took classes at Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania. After graduating from High School, she began an eighteen- year career with Merrill Lynch. After relocating to Pennsylvania, Marsha took a position with the State of Pennsylvania’s Office of the Attorney General. She cared for her ailing mother and was by her side when she passed in 1993. After the death of her mother, Marsha lived with her sister Thelma and brother-in-law James until her marriage to Wendell E. Miller on June 26, 2004. Upon her marriage, she relocated to Owings Mills, MD and worked for Medical Mutual Insurance Company.A Time To ServeAt the age of thirteen, Marsha gave her life to Christ and started her servant-hood at New Bethel Way of the Cross Church of Christ in New York City. She was a member of the Youth for Christ Choir, The Usher Board, The Zionettes, worked in the Junior Church and numerous other jobs to which she was called. She also served as the National Youth for Christ Recording Secretary. In Pennsylvania, she was a member of Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Bishop Hezekiah Walker. She continued to serve the Lord with her husband at Refuge Way of the Cross Church of Christ from 2004. While at Refuge, she was a member of the LHC Choir, Sunday school, and the Women’s Ministry. Marsha also worked in other ministries and on many fund-raising committees.A Time to DieOn Wednesday, April 8, 2009 our Heavenly Father called Marsha to His eternal home. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Wendell; three stepsons, Sean Miller (Yolanda), David Miller (Sherrie) , and Andre Miller; two step-grandchildren, Khali and Kaelin Miller; two sisters Geraldine Porter (William) and Thelma Williams (James); three brothers Hubert Terry, Harold Johnson (Elizabeth) and Gary Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members too numerous to mention.
