Marlo M. Blount

Marlo Maureen Blount was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland to Ernest Mack and Alice Young. She was one of six children. Growing up, she loved writing poetry and dreamed of being a writer. Her passion for writing led her to major in journalism at Walbrook Senior High School. She later became a licensed GNA/GNA. Marlo was married to Michael Blount Sr. for 22 years. From this union came 10 beautiful children. She was the mother that each of them needed. Not only did she dedicate most of life to raising her children, she loved and raised many other family members and neighborhood children. She was an amazing cook, making the best baked and fried chicken and neck bones and potatoes. Marlo loved the Raven! And you could find her watching every game during the football season. Marlo loved to laugh and it was contagious. Anytime you heard laughter, you could be assured that she was at the center. And you could always count on her keeping it 100! Marlo will forever be remembered by her beloved children Bridget, Michelle, Andrianna, Michael, Erika (Dwayne), Marcus, Kimberly (deceased), Christina, Diamond, Christopher, God Child Janelle. and children's father Michael Sr.! She leaves to mourn her father Ernest Mack (wife, Carol), mother Alice Young "Speck" (James Young "Butch", deceased) and grandmother Mary Scott "Mother" (Gerald Scott, deceased). Marlo is preceded in death by mother Bernadine Mack "Deanie" and grandparents Ulysses and Estelle Mack. Marlo was treasured by her grandchildren Tyreek, Korrey, Tonnie, Bradley, Cameron, Marlo, Mason, Cylee, Karson, Dylan, Gewonzia, Jonas, Maniyah and Xoe. Marlo was cherished by her loving siblings Maurice (deceased), Marcine (deceased), Lynette, Lisa (Timothy), Artavia and Selena. She also leaves to mourn Ed Rodney and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, along with countless friends whom were all blessed to know her. Marlo truly touched the lives of so many people with her infectious smile and generosity and maintained her trademark sense of humor. She always made a way and will forever be loved by her children and all who knew her.
