Marjorie W. Bean

MARJORIE W. BEAN born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 2, 1932 at the age of 84 on August 23, 2016 left this world. She was baptized at the Israel Baptist Church at the age of 11 in 1944. Graduated from Dunbar High School in 1950. Marjorie worked very hard for her 6 children; Calvin Bean, Jr (preceded her in death), Jan D. Johnson, Danny E. Bean, Vanessa B. Nelson, Clarence L. Bean Sr., Sharon B. Sloan (preceded her in death). She worked as a personal maid, Department of Defense for over 20 years and retired. Marjorie also did a lot of volunteer work. She played the piano in church, helped a lot of people in her spare time and also worked for the Baltimore City educational system. Oh don't think just because she was book smart she didn't know her sports. She was a walking ESPN. She could give you the stats on almost every team, tell you who they needed to trade and why. Go Orioles. Any opportunity she had to create a memory she would capture it. Combined birthdays no matter if you were in August or January we had a summer party. Graduation party's; she would make it to every school event as long as you gave her proper advance notice. She would keep the mementos from them pictures and programs. Marjorie leaves behind a host of loved ones who will truly miss her. Marjorie W. Bean is the foundation, bar raiser and corner stone of the family. She had a way of knowing before anyone knew. You wouldn't be able to pull wool over her eyes. A woman wise beyond her years and passing it on to her children and children's children. She truly loved her family and friends. You may have called her Marjorie, Mrs. Bean, Marge, Mom/Ma. Yet to me and 14 others she is grandma even to the great grands, which there are 18 and growing she was still grandma. Granny Bean, 1st in command the one you didn’t play with. The one we called when we thought our parents were being unfair. Granny bean had the final say ! There is so much you can say about Marge. She saved the truth for when you crossed the threshold of 18. Marjorie a financial guru, advisor, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and so much more. When she walked into a room she could captivate an audience with every word she spoke. Marjorie was 1 of 12 siblings but for the last but for the last 20 or more years it was only Nannie Moore and Marge as she called her. They were inseparable, connected at the hip you would say. Not a day would go by that they did not speak to one another. In their earlier years all of their trips and outings were together from the grocery store to the world series in 1983. she called her sister “Nan”. Nan left the world February 17, 2016 and her youngest daughter Sharon B. Sloan on February 9, 2016. the loss of her child and her sibling devastated her to no end. Her family knew it wouldn't be long befor God called her home.
