Marie B. Starks

On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, MARIE BEATRICE STARKS made the transition from this world to her eternal home of peace and joy. Born March 7, 1935, she was the daughter of Louis Nathaniel Curry and Vera Curry (nee Pride) in Baltimore, Maryland. Marie was raised and educated in Baltimore City public schools. One of 8 children, Marie was the last of her immediate family to depart this earth. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Edward Curry, Bessie Walston (nee Curry), Louis Curry ii, Adele Curry, Richard Curry, Ruth Curry and and Thelma Curry. Marie was known for her energetic outgoing spirit, humor and laughter. She also had an eye for beauty, which she evidenced in the meticulous care she took of her home. As an Avon representative, Marie also helped others to feel beautiful. She also had a servant's heart and cared for her siblings and friends. During her life, Marie became a believer in Jesus Christ and attended New Psalmist Baptist Church. In her later years, she attended Grace Fellowship Church in Timonium, Maryland with family. In the sunset of her life, as her health started to fail, she was helped and visited by her nephews: Louis "Tubby" Curry III, Alvin Curry, Darius Curry, and Virgil Curry. She also had faithful friends, Ms. Regina "Jeannie" Maybin and Mrs. Alona Lomax, who Aunt Marie affectionately called "Tootie Pie" and who remained steady by her side until her end of her life. She was also helped by health care aides from Chesapeake Home Health Care and from Future Care old Court, most notably Felicia from Chesapeake Home Health Care and Myra from Future Care Old Court. Marie was a woman of prayer, who lifted many petitions to her "FATHER GOD". She believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross for her sins and that it was his sacrifice on the cross that has ushered her into heaven, where she is awaiting along with the crowds of witnesses to be joined by her family and friends for which she has prayed for their salvation in Jesus Christ and that she will see them again. Marie leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
