Margaret Thompson Robinson

Psalm 121:1-2 On Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 3:08 am, the Lord called Mrs. Margaret Virginia Thompson Robinson home. Margaret was born November 6, 1925 in New Kent County to the late Littleton and Maude Thompson. She is preceded in death by her first born son, Walter Seldon Jr. and sister, Catherine Macon. She became a member of Lebanon Baptist Church at an early age. She was educated in the New Kent County Public Schools and moved to Richmond as a young adult where she was first employed with a private family. Margaret was united in holy matrimony to Walter Seldon Robinson Sr. on December 24, 1954. That union was blessed with three children: Walter Jr., Garry and Erle. Margaret worked at the Little Sisters of the Poor for over 20 years. Through the years, her husband and sons would also work for her employer. At one point, Margaret was featured as employee of the month and her entire family was cited as an example of excellence. She retired from the Little Sisters in 1989 to care for her grandchildren. Margaret was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her husband and family unconditionally and embraced others as part of her family. Visitors to her home could always find fresh bacon cooked on the stove and a cold soda in the downstairs fridge. She was a guardian angel and security blanket for her three sons and doted upon her grandchildren. Margaret never missed a recital, school event or special outing. She enjoyed talking on the telephone and going out with her sons. She was a dependable, steadying force to her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her loving memory husband, Walter Seldon Robinson Sr.; caring sons, Garry E. Robinson and Erle S. Robinson Sr.; daughters-in-law, Valerie S. Robinson and Maretha R. Robinson; grandchildren, Erle Robinson Jr., Brittney Robinson, Jennifer Robinson, Samantha Robinson, Tabitha Robinson and Mauriceo Mallory; stepdaughter, Julia Elizabeth Minor and her children, Walter, Sheila, Brenda, George Jr., Claudia, Kevin, Carolyn, David, Reginald and Eric; brothers, Emmett Thompson Sr. and Littleton Thompson Jr.; sisters, Edith Mae Macon and Olivia Williams; godchildren, Pamela Thompkins, LaChone Thompkins and DeMond Carroll; caregivers, Carmen Parker “Ce Ce”, Gloria Terry, Barbara Fulcher “BJ” and Cynthia Robinson; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. “Without farewell, you fell asleep...with only memories for us to keep A pleasant smile, a heart of gold...our love for you will never grow old.
