Margaret Etta Kelly

Ms. Margaret Etta Kelly was born in Columbus ,Ohio on September 26, 1958 to Peggy Carter Kelly and the late Leroy L. Kelly, Sr. She was survived by two children and two grandchildren .She entered into eternal life on May 5, 2012. She moved and resided in Richmond, Virginia while still young. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended the Institute of Business and Technology and Virginia Commonwealth University. Margaret received degrees in Sociology and Psychology. She held various positions prior to entering the Hospitality field at the Marriott Hotel. She worked there for many years before going to the Omni Hotel where she worked for 13 years. During her tenure working at the hotels, she was a Banquet Supervisor, Market Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Banquet Manager and Security Personnel. She was baptized at Triumphant Baptist Church. She received the Right Hand of Fellowship and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Board Hospitality Committee and the Pastor’s Aid Committee. Margo, as she was usually called loved her family and friends. She doted on her grandchildren. She was an organized person. She always loved to decorate, throw parties and entertain guests. Margo loved movies, old TV shows, good music and going out with friends like her best friend Kathy Frazier. She loved to joke, was loyal and a huge giver. She could be ferocious when protecting her family. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Leroy L. Kelly, Sr., a brother, the late Dean W. Kelly and a sister, the late Margie McCann. She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Peggy Carter Kelly, her son, Reginald A. Kelly, her daughter, Jessica M. Kelly, two grandchildren, Tionna J. Sharpe and Damarion K. Young, two sisters, Maxine K. Blount( Gerald) and Dale Marie Andrews( Allen) ,two brothers ,Donald L. Lucas Sr.,( Delores) and Leroy L. Kelly, Jr., nephews, Donald Jr., Lynwood ,Ashley and Dennis; nieces, Yvette, Leslie,Miisha, Peggy and Whitney; numerous aunts, cousins, great -nephews and great-nieces; devoted friends Monica Johnson Signore Barnes, Kathy and Pia Frazier, Lisa Shaw, Steve and Smantra Vaughan, Vincent and Felicia Coleman ;Godsons; Dante Young and David Lewis ( Pam) and a host of relatives and friends. Margot was definitely a beautiful person, a loving mother and grandmother. A great friend and she would leave a lasting impression on anyone she came in contact with. We will always love her and will miss her always.
