Margaret E. Pierce

Margaret Elizabeth Pierce, daughter of the late William and Allie Loud was born on October 3, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the second child born of four children. She departed this life on February 8, 2009 at Union Memorial hospital after a lengthy illness. Now she is secure on the heavenly shore.Margaret's early years were spent in Baltimore. She was educated in the public school system and graduated from Dunbar High School. She joined Memorial Baptist Church where she was the secretary for the helping hands committee and a member of the Women's Missionary Ministry. She remained active and faithful until her health failed.Margaret married Alfred Pierce and from this union William A. Pierce, Sr. Leonard M. Pierce and Raymond E. Pierce were born.Margaret worked as a Nursing Assistant at University Hospital for many years. While at University Hospital, she worked her way up to ward clerk taking care of premature babies. She was very dedicated to her work in the health care field for over 30 years. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Margaret also worked for the Lacher family doing private duty. She was faithful to the Lacher family for 26 years. She loved them and they loved her. Their friendship never ended.Margaret was a nurturing person. Her husband was her life. She took special care of him when he was sick and stayed by his side until his death. They were inseparable. When you mentioned Margaret you automatically thought of Alfred.She enjoyed her two best friends, Barbara Lacher and Gracie Betts; her trips to Atlantic City with the Oliver Center; her recliner, western movies and dining out with her family.Each year in August, the Dorsey Chapel in Frederick, Maryland dedicated a service honoring her as the oldest member of the Dorsey and Loud families.Margaret was strict, outspoken, confident and loving. She opened her house, hand and heart to many. The link in the family chain has been broken. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, her three sons, her brothers, her sister and her granddaughter Tammy.Left with loving memories are her daughters, Renee D. Pierce and Tonya Brown; her grandchildren, William A. Pierce, Jr., Constance Pierce, Eric T. Pierce, Sr.; Wesley Phillips, Jr., Darrell Phillips, and Breasia Williams; her great-grandchildren, Tenera Braxton, Eric T. Pierce, Jr., Tyler J. Pierce, Crystal and Sean; a great-great grandchild, Kala and five other great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, a favorite nephew Emilio, great-nieces, great nephew, great-great nieces and nephew, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
