Marcus Davon Rouse

MARCUS DAVON ROUSE, was born on January 21, 1989 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland to Rufus Rouse and Thessa Burke. Marcus also known as “Greasy” was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and completed his high school education through home schooling after contracting Leukemia. Marcus has a passion for shopping while sporting a pair of dark sunglasses. He also enjoyed cooking, rappin, watching movies, and being a comedian making people laugh wherever he went. He always wanted to be different and stand out from the crowd. Marcus would always wanted say “I’m doing big things.” Marcus had a unique way of leaving an impression on people wherever he went with his personality and charm. His pride and joy was the time he spent with his family. Marcus loved his family and in return his family loved him. Marcus had a very close relationship with his brother, Du’Shawn and would do anything for his brother regardless of the circumstances. He was respectable, caring and considerate of all. His grandmother Mrs. Rouse “Ma” is the one person he had a unique relationship with and loved her unconditionally. Whenever his grandmother got on his nerves he would always say to her “you are out of order.” Marcus was a laid back type of guy and never worried or complained about anything in spite of his battle with Leukemia. Regardless of how he was feeling, Marcus never allowed his illness to hinder his relationship with his family and many friends. Marcus kept a smile on his face whether or not he was in pain. He had a good relationship with many doctors and nurses at Sinai Hospital, where he received outstanding treatment for his illness. He had a special bond and relationship with many doctors and nurses, Ms. Bonnie, Ms. Joan, “ adopted white mother Sharon”, and “Aunt Christie.” He always managed to give the nurses at the Hematology Clinic a hard way to go by being on his cell phone while being examined and rushing the nurses to discharged him to go home. Marcus was just that type of guy. On Tuesday, November 9, 2010 the Golden Gates of Heaven open for Marcus after battling Leukemia for six years. Rest now Marcus, your battle is over, you will live in the hearts of all who loved you and you know who we are, we will miss you deeply. Marcus leaves to cherish his memory: grandmother/mother, Ruthie Rouse; grandmother, Doris Johnson; father, Rufus Rouse; birth mother, Thessa Burke; daughter, Tamira; eight sister, Janika, Tionee, Shakeye, Tana, Tia, Nyeissa, Georshae and Timira; three brothers, Maurice, Du’Shawn and Rasshid Rouse; Five great-aunt, Essie Leslie, Gertha Lee Lightly, Jessie Mae Moses, Minnie Rogers from South Carolina and Daisy Alexander from Baltimore; two great-uncle, Terry Rouse and Leroy Burke; eight aunts, two that were special to him, Kimberly Smith and Mechelle Johnson, Jaquese who preceded him in death; five uncles, Marion “Junior,” and Carlos Rouse, Kelly and Cherly Burke, Felicia Thomas and Bettina Rouse, Rodney and Michael Burke and Brian Thomas; two close friends, Valerie “Val”, Keon. Marcus is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
