Lurline Wizzart

God in His infinite wisdom reached down and picked another one of His flowers for His “Garden of Peace”. On Sunday, January 15, 2012, LURLINE SHAW WIZZART was summoned and answered the eternal call to rest. Lurline Shaw Wizzart, born to the late Theodosia Reed and Charlie Shaw was born on October 11, 1927 in Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies. She received her education at Mount Ward and Mount Peto schools. Lurline was an ambitious young and an entrepreneur at heart. She owned and operated a grocery store with her husband and then in November, 1970 the pair migrated to the United States. She worked briefly as a store clerk in the A&P Food Market and then she opened and ran her own daycare for several years. Lurline had five children. She was a member of the Northwest Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Prem Sankar for a few years and then she became a member of Unity Fellowship Apostolic Church under the direction of Pastor Carl Adams, Sr. Lurline was a true woman of God who loved the Lord. She was a giver, always smiling and making people laugh with her jokes. She was kind, generous, positive and always friendly. Lurline was hard-working, loving and dependable, and if someone needed her she was ready and willing to lend a hand. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-seven years, Joseph Wizzart; eldest son, Alvin Allen; and grandson, Nekoro Brown. Lurline Shaw Wizzart, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend leaves to cherish her legacy and memory: four children, Jeneloy Wizzart, Elon Wizzart, Ophelia Brown and Pamela Bennett; daughter-in-law, Carol Wizzart; sons-in-law, Delroy Brown, Alric Wilson and Herbert Bennett; twelve grandchildren, Karlton Wizzart, Nadine Wizzart, Keshia Wizzart, Alisia Wilson, Shemika Brown-Tomlinson, Vallen Wizzart, Shaka Brown, Jermaine Wizzart, Duran, Ashley Wizzart, Elon Wizzart, Jr. and Linval Bennett; seven great-grandchildren, Kaila Coleman, Caylee and Caleb Tomlinson; two sisters-in-law, Martha and Mary Wizzart; one brother-in-law, Emmanuel Wizzart; a dear nephew and niece, Junior and Cheryl Wizzart; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, extended family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and all those who knew her.
