Lovina E. Bristol

Lovina Esther Bristol, known affectionately as "Love" or "Aunt Love" by many, passed away at the age of 100 in Gwynn Oak, Maryland surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Appomattox County, Virginia, on June 15, 1923, to the late Oliver Davidson and Bertha Davidson. Lovina's life was a testament to love, care, and generosity. After receiving her education in Virginia public schools, she ventured to Baltimore, Maryland, in her teen years, where she embarked on a remarkable journey. She was a devout Christian, a member of the First Baptist Church for over 40 years, and an active contributor to her faith community. Lovina generously donated her time and baked goods, establishing herself as a beloved figure within her church. Her welcoming spirit extended far beyond the church walls. Lovina was a mother figure to all who had the privilege of knowing her, earning the love and admiration of everyone she met. Her passion for cooking brought people together, as she delighted in preparing her favorite meals and hosting gatherings in her home. She was renowned for her culinary talents, and her meals were a true labor of love. In addition to her dedication to her faith and her family, Lovina was committed to giving back to her community. She established "The Love Fund," a scholarship designed to help graduating seniors pursue their dreams and aspirations. This gesture of generosity exemplified her commitment to the growth and success of the next generation. During her career at General Electric, Lovina excelled, eventually attaining the position of supervisor. Her long and prosperous career was marked by accolades and recognition for her exceptional service to the company. Her achievements were a testament to her work ethic, dedication, and leadership. Lovina was married to William Bristol Sr. for 24 years, and their love was a source of joy and laughter. Together, they enjoyed traveling to McBee, South Carolina and Farmville, Virginia to visit family, creating cherished memories along the way. She was preceded in death by her husband; William Bristol Sr and her 11 siblings; Thomas, Charlie, Gloria, Raymond, Robert, Shirley, Margaret, Dora Lee, Jonius, Richard and Authur. Lovina was a dedicated mother to her four children: Verna Mae Jennings, Levon Banks, Leon Martin, Kevin Bristol and Daughter in law- Connie Bristol. She is also survived by her twelve adoring grandchildren: Justin Bristol, Troy Hooper, Kenric Rice, Marcus Martin, Marcel Martin, Crystal Martin, Linda Banks, Vincent Banks, Johnny Lockett, James Lockett, Tina Lockett, and Tommy Lockett. She also leaves behind a legacy of love with her great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
