Louise Elizabeth Randall-Jones

Louise Randall-Jones born on October 17, 1925 to Mary and Chester Cooper in the suburbs of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She was the youngest of three daughters. She departed this life on February 15, 2024. Loise was educated in the schools of Edgecombe County and graduated from the eleventh grade. Louise was often referred to as "Lou Gal" in the south. She moved to the city of Rocky Mount in the early 1950's. Her first job was that of a taxi cab dispatcher. She enjoyed this job very much, because she got to know the cabbies and the people who called for them. Louise decided to move to Baltimore to live with her mother and stepfather. She then met Oliver Jones and started a family. She eventually left the name "Lou Gal" behind. Soon after all the neighborhood kids lovingly referred to her as "Mama Lou". She loved and disciplined them as if they were her own. She loved to cook and always had plenty of food to offer. "Mama Lou" created the "fried cornbread balls" that everybody loved and would come to her house for them; they couldn't eat just one. Besides cooking, "Mama Lou" loved joking, making people laugh, reading her Bible, watching Westerns and soap operas. You could always count on Louise to give you a word of wisdom that was straightforward and honest. In the 1960's, she joined New Shiloh Baptist Church, where she continued to foster her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a pillar of strength and wisdom to her family and her community. She dedicated her life to her family, leaving an unforgettable mark on all of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her boundless compassion, unwavering faith and infectious laughter will be forever cherished. Louise was preceded in death by the love of her life, Elmer Brown; as well as her parents; one son Colis Randall (Boot); two daughters, Eva "Avis" Jones and Nunnelly Jones-Mitchell; two sisters Martha Ann Joyner and Clara Pitt. With many cherished memories to hold, she leave to cherish her memory, two daughters Carolyn "Sue" Parker (son-in-law Thomas Parker) and Deborah D. Jones; two sons Oliver "Stan" Jones (daughter-in-law Annette Jones) and Allen Byseem Muhammad; one additional daughter-in-law, Sha'ron Brooks; along with 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; three special grandchildren that she raised as her own; Parrish Rogers, Brittany and Travis Robinson; she also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
