Louise Jackson

Louise Jackson was born on November 18, 1926, to the late Eddie and Frances Harris of Kershaw, South Carolina. She departed this life after a brief illness on Sunday, October 23, 2011. Louise grew-up in Kershaw, South Carolina, where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, McKinley Jackson on July 22, 1945. Out of the sixty-five union, they raised (6) children and dedicated their lives to their family, church and community. As a founding member of St. Abraham Baptist Church in the early 1950’s, Louise served as a Deaconess, member of the Missionary Board, member of the choirs, chairperson of the Kitchen Committee, and served as a Mother of the church. Louise was clearly an example of a virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31. She was loving, kind, tireless, caring and strong. She was a true homemaker, a great cook and provider for her family. She had a special love for children. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, indoor plants and walking. McKinley Jackson, her loving husband, preceded her in death and she leaves to mourn: a daughter, Rev. Roberta (Arthur) Hamlin; four (4) sons, Wardell, Richard, Herbert (Helen) and Rev. Melvin Jackson; one son, Eric Jackson preceded his mother in death; ten (10) grandchildren, Andrea, Garlo, Antonio, Terri Lynn, Tunia, Charntae, McKinley David, Erica, Trebreh and Rev. Sean (Andrene’) Jackson; and eleven (11) great-grandchildren, Devron, Lesean, Andre’, Ajah, Amari, Jonathan, Heaven, Antonio Jr., Larry, Kayla and Aiden. She also leaves to mourn: four (4) sisters, Jessie Harris of Camden, South Carolina, Sylvester (James) Cook of Teaneck, New Jersey, Melvina (Herbie) Rutledge of Heath Springs, South Carolina and Margaret (Clifford) Buford of Kershaw, South Carolina; three (3) brothers, Simon Harris of Heath Springs, South Carolina; English Roy (Helen) Harris of Lugoff, South Carolina and Edward Harris Of Kershaw, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Carrie (Willie) Owens of Patterson, New Jersey; and a brother-in-law, Paul Jackson of Newfield, New Jersey; her best friend and cousin, Geneiva Johnson; and her long-time neighbor and friend, Ms. Maggie Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews and godchildren.
