Lloyd Johnson

On Sunday, September 27, 2020, Jesus said “Come Unto Me and Rest”. He listened and obeyed. Lloyd Alvin Johnson was born May 16, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia to parents, Eunice M. Johnson and Reubin H. Johnson. Lloyd was educated in the Richmond Public School system where he graduated from Armstrong High School in 1963. Lloyd had the great experience of working several jobs during his young adult life. During that time, he sought out and successfully gained employment in the Philadelphia area as a truck driver making many deliveries. Eventually, due to the Cold weather he decided to make his way back home to Virginia. His most prominent employment, which gave him great pride, was with the “Department of Consumer Service”, as a Lab Technician Assistant for the State of Virginia for 35 years before retiring. Lloyd loved and cherished spending time with his family and friends and valued having his Dad as his Best Friend. He enjoyed Dancing and telling many Jokes (a few corny) that his family will always hold dear. He “Loved” watching his best television program, Steve Harvey’s “Family Feud”! In addition, Lloyd liked to go fishing as much as possible, even when he didn’t actually catch many. He really looked forward to traveling to many places and taking Cruises, but couldn’t wait to go to “The Casino”, at least twice a year to try his hand at the “One Arm Bandits” aka “Slot Machines”. However, truth be told, the Hotel’s Buffet was the high light of the entire trip. Last, but definitely not least, he was one of the Biggest “Philadelphia” Eagles football fans!! He is preceded in death by his parents, Reubin Johnson (Cora) and Eunice Crouch (William). As well as, his baby girl/daughter, La Tangela Johnson; sisters, Roxanne Wolfe (Tim) and Francine Pleasants and brother, Walter Barnes. Lloyd’s legacy lives on through his loving wife of many years, Frances Johnson; two daughters, Lora Bentley (James 3rd) and Angela Hawkes; one son, Aldridge Willis; two brothers, Ronald Johnson (Rose) and Gerald Barnes; one sister, Carolyn Brown (Fred); three grandsons, Dre’on Robinson, De’on Robinson and Javonte’ Bentley; four great grandchildren, Lil Deon, Canisha, Preston and Trenton; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
