Lisa Hamilton

Lisa Elizabeth Johnson-Hamilton was born August 13, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland to Barbara Ann Young and the late Jonny L. Davis, and shortly after adopted by her late stepdad Wendell Johnson. Lisa was raised in East Baltimore with her four brothers Marvin, Malcolm, Daniel, and Jacob. She received her formal education through the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Lake Clifton High in 1984. Lisa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at New Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Albert J. Hardy. She served on the Usher board throughout her teenage years and sand on the youth choir where she established long lasting friendships. As she grew older, Lisa made the decision to join The Garden of Prayer Christian Church under the leadership of DR. Melvin B. Tuggle II. She was devoted to and loved ministering her praise through music as a member of the Hurt Mass Choir with a host of family and friends that she loved unconditionally, respected and cherished. Lisa was a gifted psalmist and a lead singer at the Garden of Prayer for many years. Shortly after completing high school, Lisa extended her schooling at the Ron Thomas School of Cosmetology, where her passion was mastered with experience and talent. She loved doing hair whether in the beauty salon or in her home. She completed cosmetology school while raising her three children at the time, Brandon Johnson, Talia Butler, and Latia Jenkins. Lisa was united in marriage to Samuel Hamilton on July 28th, 2001 in attendance of close family and friends. To this union, two children were born: Shantia Hamilton and Malia Hamilton. All five of Lisa's children were her pride and joy. Lisa loved her Gospel music, doing hair, making bracelets and spending time with her children, grandchildren and husband. Lisa was a sweet, kind, loving and caring woman to say the least. she always had encouraging words for anyone who felt times were hard to bear. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Malia Hamilton; her grandmother: Elizabeth Thompson; her grandfather: Walter Thompson Sr., her aunt: Betty Lorraine Grant, her uncle: Walter Thompson Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Samuel Hamilton, her Mother: Barbara Young, her aunt: Louise Thompson, her Son: Brandon Johnson, 3 daughters,: Talia Butler, Latia Jenkins and Shantia Hamilton, her grandchildren: Kenyin, Brashae, Jaelah, Jaede, Bailey, Bryson, Adrien, Kylie and Kyndle; her brothers: Marvin Johnson, Malcolm Willoughby, Daniel Lawrence, Jacob Young; her sisters-in-law: Gloria Johnson, Sherrona Lawrence; cousins: James (Jay-jay), Sean, Samuel, Cheryl, Michael; her nieces: Nicole & Rykia Johnson, Kaiya Lawrence; her nephews: Daniel Jr. and Jackson Lawrence; three great nieces: Shayonna, Dejah, Jaylen along with a host of loving and devoted relatives and friends.
