Linda Mae Lambert

LINDA MAE LAMBERT (affectionately known as “Bunny”) was the daughter of the late Ella Mae Dennis and Paul Samuel Lambert. She was born on December 5, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a lengthy illness, she departed this earthly life. On July 10, 2024. God called His daughter home. She received her early education in the Baltimore City Public School System and later attended the Community College of Baltimore where she obtained her A.A. degree. She also attended Nyack College where she earned her B.S. degree. During her time there, she earned various awards. Linda was employed by the State of Maryland for over twenty year until her retirement. As a State employee, she worked at both the Department of Child Support Enforcement and the Department of Social Sciences/Human Resource Department. She was a dedicated and respected employee, always going the extra mile and was always there for anyone needing guidance or support. She was often referred to as “Mother Lambert”. After her retirement, she began volunteering at the States Attorney’s Office, Office of Consumer Complaint Division. She enjoyed helping clients find resolutions to their problems. She always liked to stay busy but due to her illness she had to stop. Throughout Linda’s life, she was known for her loving, caring, sassy, fun, unapologetic, adventurous spirit. She was quite a fashionista, known for her flair for polished nails, vibrant colors and stiletto heels. She was a people person, a definite extrovert. Always extending her family by unofficially adopting other people’s children, brothers and sisters. Linda always had a soft spot in her heart for the homeless. She would often buy extra when shopping so she could give to those that didn’t have. It was not unusual for her to buy meals for the homeless. She loved to give advice even when you didn’t want it. Linda enjoyed life, having fun with family and friends. She had a special bond with her late cousin Deloris Baker and Ronnie Thompson. They were like the three amigos. She also had a special bond with her niece Sherry Dicko and nephew Michael Slaughter. Linda loved seafood and cooking for her family and friends. She loved playing spades and would apologize to her rival partners before the game saying, “I hate that I have to beat you in this game but please feel free to sign up for my spades class for lessons”. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She had to have an extremely large tree with all the decorations. But most importantly, it was a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ which was her first love. No matter what, both the highs and lows Linda faced in life, her faith always remained strong. Linda Mae Lambert leaves behind: her two daughters, Kim Shawtell Ramsey and Shawnel Janet Jackson; her devoted sister, Janet Willis; two grandchildren, Allure and Aspen; two sons-in-law, Kirk Ramsey and James Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and all those adopted along the way.
