Lillie Mae Crump Weathers

Lillie Mae (Crump) Weathers peacefully departed this life on June 2, 2025 at the age of 84. As the sixth of 16 children, Lillie was born on March 19, 1941 to the late Ernest and Alberta Crump in Quinton, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Isaac “Ike” Weathers, and 10 of her siblings. Lillie’s love for her family, taking care and being of service to others, and cooking was evident throughout her life. After receiving an education in the New Kent County Public School System, she relocated to Richmond, Virginia, where she served in many roles throughout her life, including a cafeteria cook with Richmond Public Schools, and a private duty nurse for various families before ultimately working into retirement at Imperial Plaza Assisted Living. However, Lillie’s most cherished roles were that of a wife, mother, and grandmother. In Richmond, she met her husband, Ike, and together they built a life grounded in love, determination, and hard work. Her home always served as a safe-haven to her loved ones in need and she was known for her cooking and hospitality, often hosting large family gatherings and making sure everyone felt welcomed and were well-fed. Her signature dinner rolls, pound cakes, and baked chicken were beloved by her family and friends. Prior to her illness, she also enjoyed gardening with her husband, going to yard sales, and playing crossword puzzles and Bid Whist with loved ones. The memory of Lillie will remain in the hearts of her survivors; her daughters, Brenda Barnett, Yolanda Weathers (Nelson), and Iris Weathers of Richmond, VA; bonus children, Isaac Weathers Jr., James Weathers (Barbara), and Doris Weathers of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Jessica Arrington (Kwiesi Sr.), Jana Barnett, Isaiah Hardy, and Iyanna Weathers; great grandchildren, Aja Arrington, Kwiesi Arrington Jr., and Isaac Hardy; four sisters, Betty Miller, Thelma Culpeper, Mamie Mitchell, of Richmond, VA, and Virginia Hall of Cromwell, CT; one brother, Richard Crump (Florence) of Middletown, CT; sisters-in-law, Mary Spencer and Geneva Thompson of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Nathan Weathers of Cleveland, OH; eight bonus grandchildren, 39 bonus great-grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. Lillie was an amazing woman with a generous spirit- who loved to dance and always had a joke to make you laugh. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy will forever live on through all who knew and loved her. ____________________________________________________________________________
