Proverbs 31:30-31 A Time to be Born….. LILLIAN EDITH JACKSON was born March 1, 1926 to the late Charles Edward and Lillian Annie Simms. A Time to Die….. Surrounded by her children on the evening of November 3, 2014, Lillian slipped quietly into the loving, waiting arms of Jesus the Christ. A Time to Build Up….. Lillian graduated from Dunbar Senior High School and upon graduation she worked at Johns Hopkins as an Elevator Attendant. She later enrolled in the American Red Cross training program. This training allowed her to pursue a nurs-ing career at St. Agnes Hospital as a Nurse Technician. After working at St. Ag-nes Hospital for well over 30 years, Lillian decided in 1991 to retire and started a new chapter of her life. She enjoyed retirement to the fullest, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her many close friends. A Time to Serve: Lillian accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Lillian loved the Lord and was a faithful lifelong member of St. Phillips Lutheran Church until her illness prevented her from attending. A Time to Love: Lillian had a very outgoing spirit and the love she had for her family and friends enriched each and every one of us. She met and married the love of her life Robert Lee Jackson and their love grew until his sudden death. Lillian was previ-ously married to Russell Swan and she considered it a blessing that the families blended together in love. Anyone who ever knew Lillian will remember her as a “Social Butterfly". She was always entertaining family and friends at her home or she would be out visiting people; however, you knew never to call Lillian between the hours of 1pm and 4pm. That was her soap opera time. She would screen her calls and if she did answer her response was always “I’m fine…Bye” and she would hang up on you. She was characterized by her beautiful smile and a personality to match. With everlasting love Lillian leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Peggy Jones (Oather Jr.), Reginald Swan (Eleanor), Sharon Davis (Timothy Sr.), and step-son Robert Jackson, Jr. (Sheila). One son preceded her in death, her baby Eric Jackson (Melissa). Grandchildren: Oather III, Antoinette, Sean, April, Timothy Jr, Lamont, Brandi, Erica, Eric Jr, Ebony, Cheryl, Kenneth, and Robyn. One grand-son, Craig preceded her in death. She also had 23 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and two very close lifelong friends, Connie Spruill (Booshay) and Ms. Rose Green.
