Lillian Barney

Lillian Ray Barney, affectionately known as “Lil, was born on January 14, 1951, in North Carolina to the late James Walter Wynn Sr, and Mary Louise Wynn. Lil received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools. During her teen years, she had a passion for fashion, doing her makeup, and smelling good with various fragrances. Lil enjoyed social events, family activities, eating good food, laughing & joking, and pranking others. You could count on her to be upfront and tell you how it is with hesitation. Oh…and she loved her Baltimore Ravens. Lil had a personal relationship with God, and she enjoyed attending her church, Victory Ministries of Christ. Later in life, she discovered a passion for nursing. She worked and retired from Deaton Medical Center after 30 plus years of service to others. Lil was very compassionate, nurturing, and caring. Even after retirement, she still managed to care for the elderly in the neighborhood and take on private cases as a contractor until she was no longer able to do so. At an early age, Lil met and married Grailan Ceaser and from that union came Destinee Ceaser Later in life she remarried to the love of her life, Herbert Barney, and from that union came Adrienne Barney, Kenneth Barney, and Jeffrey Barney. Lil was preceded in death by her father, James Wynn Sr. mother Mary Wynn, sister Alice Smoot, brother Early Wynn, and brother James Wynn Jr. Lil leaves to cherish her memory and carry her legacy: her devoted husband Herbert Barney, four loving children, daughter Destinee Ceaser-Davis, son-in-law Jerry Davis, daughter Adrienne Barney, son Kenneth Barney, soon to - be daughter - in -law Lavonne Smith, son Jeffrey Barney daughter- in - law Lisa Bernice Barney; sister Emma Calvert, brother-in-law Bernard Calvert, brother Darryl Carolina, sister Cynthia (Robin) Carolina-Brooks, sister Debra Gilmore, brother-in-law Kevin Carolina, sister Karen Ware; eight grandchildren – Blair, Darius, Ryin, Kenneth Jr., Destinee, Duane, T’nia, and Jernee; one great-grandchild – Darious Jr.; two special nieces – Tanya Smoot-Cabean and Keisha Grinnage, along with a host of nieces nephew, cousins, family loved ones friends.
