Lillian Allison

On Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 11:18 pm LILLIAN HARPER ALLISON entered into eternal rest at the Union Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.Lillian was born on July 12, 1928 to the late Eve Bell Harper and the late Isaac Washington in Kinston, North Carolina where she was educated in the North Carolina public schools system and employed within the fields.In the early 50’s Lillian moved to Washington DC to pursue a better life for her and her children. While living in the district she worked at the Famous Ben’s Chili Bowl where she was loved by all who came through the restaurant. Later on in the mid 60’s she relocated to Baltimore, MD to work as a seamstress at a textile factory. After working so many very long and hard years as a seamstress, she retired and later worked as a volunteer home health aid. One of Lillian gifts from God was always helping others. She was loved by all she came in contact with, always lending out a helping hand and giving an encouraging work. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit.Lillian loved her family and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was an active member at the Saint Abraham Baptist Church for over 25 years, where she served as an usher, deaconess and one of the mothers of the church. Not only did she love hearing the work of God but Lillian also enjoyed the choir singing especially when the Quartet song. We would often catch her dancing and praising the Lord in the aisles. There Lillian met the love of her life, the late Clarence Allison Sr. On September 10, 1994 they united as one in Holy Matrimony, during this time Lillian and Clarence Sr. received lots of love from there now joined families.Lillian memories will forever be in our hearts. She leaves behind her children: The late Lillian, Charlie, Cheryl (Cherri), James-Arthur, William (Bill), Robin, Jimmy, Sloan, Clarence Jr., Keith, Shelia and a very special daughter-in-law Mabel; her siblings, Guy, Fred-Lee. Roland, Willie, Henry. Queenie, Cora and Vivian. She also leaves behind over fifty grandchildren, over forty great-grandchildren and at least ten great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
