Leroy Watters

Leroy Irvin Watters, Jr., affectionately known to his family and friends as "Peabrain," son of Leroy Watters, Sr. and the late Margaret Lucille Watters, was born on January 9, 1963. He departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Leroy received his formal education through the Baltimore City Public School System. He attended Hamilton Junior High School and continued to Samuel Gompers Vocational School, where his focus was carpentry, graduating in 1979. He went on to have a remarkable career of 23 years working for Carroll Fuel Company. Leroy loved his job, where he held several positions. He installed underground tanks for gas stations, he helped construct the tanks, he was a diesel mechanic, and he was a truck driver. He retired from Carroll Fuel Company in 2008. Once retired, Leroy refused to stay in the house, and his love for carpentry flourished. He started building homes, installing drywall, electric fixings, plumbing, whatever you needed to be done, Leroy was there. He was the jack of all trades; there is nothing he could not fix, repair, or build. This passion ultimately led to Leroy, helping his son start his home improvement company Watterlink. He continued doing these odd-jobs until his unexpected passing. Leroy loved his family and enjoyed being with them. He had a passion for cooking, famous for his potato salad and bar-b-que ribs. If there was a party he was there, Leroy made it his business to celebrate often and have a good time, whether at a birthday party or a holiday event. Leroy was a sharp dresser, and he loved clothes so much that he left little room for his wife's clothes in any of the closets. His childhood was full of love, growing up in the house with his mother and four siblings. Although his father's occupation kept him on the road driving, he made sure his kids wanted for nothing. Though he was the fourth born, they always looked up to him. Leroy's proudest accomplishments were his two boys, Leroy II and Richard. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. Even through he was proud of his boys, his heart belonged to his grandkids and great-grandkids. He made it his business to put a smile on their faces. They all knew that if Pop Pop had it, then they had it. He met the love of his life, Kimberly Pernice Watters, in the late 90's. They tied the know on March 12, 1998. They went through their ups and downs like every other couple, but through it, all the love for one another endured. That love produced a 22-year marriage. Leroy is preceded in death by his mother Margaret Watters, brothers Anthony Watters, Sr., Irvin Blackston, and sister Gewndolyn Anderson-Watters. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Kimberly Watters; his father Leroy Watters Sr.; sisters Dr. Marilyn Blackston, Maria Watters, Tracey Watters; brothers Richard Watters (Tia) and Alexander Bond Elishia); sons Leroy Watters III, Richard Watters; sisters-in-law Latonya Hamilton, Mysia Hamilton, Dorothy Watters; brothers-in-law reginald Hamilton and Tyrone Anderson; grandchildren A'Nya Watters, Kimura Watters, Leroy Watters IV, Janice Watters, Lanell Watters, Faith Watters, Richard Watters Jr., and Chelsey Watters; great-grandchildren A'Mora Watters and Zimere Marant. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. And his best friens, Laval Madden.
