Leroy Green

A Time to Be Born Leroy Green, was born to the late Sam and Ada Green on May 13, 1938 in Warsaw, South Carolina. He transitioned peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 5, 2015. Leroy was an only child. A Time to Embrace In 1957, Leroy Green moved to Baltimore, Maryland and in 1958, he met and married Mabel L. David. From this union, God blessed them with one son, Garry Green, Leroy was an affectionate husband and devoted father. A Time to Plant He was employed by Pep Boys for a number of years. In September, 1965 he was employed by General Motors Chevrolet Plant as an assembler. During his stay there, he worked in many departments as an inspector, Stock Chases, Booth Cleaner and Hi-Low Operator in Sanitation until he transferred. Into the Material Department as Hi-Low operator. He worked there until his retirement A time to serve In 1981, Leroy gave his life to Christ and joined St. Joseph Free Will Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Austin Barnes. The Lord blessed his life . After six years of dedicated service at St. Joseph FWB Church, he was ordained as a Deacon on Sunday, December 14, 1986 and he served as co-Chairman of the Deacon Board and he also served as a Steward of the Church. On December 22, 1995, Deacon Green retired after thirty years of credited service from General Motors Truck and Bus Division . He had several hobbies - trucking, fishing and sports. Deacon Leroy Green was an inspiration to everyone and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you. He had numerous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him. He had a charitable spirit. He enjoyed life. He lived, loved and prospered. A Time to Mourn Deacon Green leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 56 years, Mabel L.Green; one son, Garry Green (Yvonne); two grandchildren, Garry Green,Jr (Kim) and Toccara Renee who preceded him in death; three great-grandchildren, Jaylin Christopher, Tiarra Renee and Jacoby Kevin; seven sisters-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; one very close friend, Claude Alston; one adopted special little brother, Jimmy Callium of South Carolina; five goddaughters; one godson, Melvin and a host of family and friends.
