Leonard Mandel Crudup

Leonard Mandel Crudup, son of the late James Robert Crudup and Ella Mae Crudup, was born on October 10, 1959 in Baltimore, Md On March 24, 2015 in the early hours, God sent his angel to Leonard home. Leonard affectionately known as “Lenny” was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He was baptized at tender age of seven at Highway Church of Christ. Lenny had several jobs including chauffeur processor at the Goodwill, and the latest independent entrepreneur. Despite holding several jobs, not one of them gave Lenny the joy he received from working for the “Doing It Again on Greenmount” program for the past five years. Lenny organized events and counseled individuals seeking help. Lenny was the proud father of two children: Teyon Jamal Crudup and Tyshawn Marquell Crudup. He was also a loving grandfather to Teyon Jamal Crudup, Jr Lenny informed everyone that he countered about his two children and grandchild; it's nothing in the world that Lenny would not do for for his boys. Lenny built many friendships all across town but he had a special camaraderie with his “circle.” His first friend to enter that circle was Randy, Randy was his best friend and big brother for the last forty years. Lenny and Randy became friends when they were 15 years old and were inseparable ever since. Also, a part of the circle was Charles Johnson, Wayne Streat, Phyllis Hubbard, Michael Hutchins, Ann Matin, Darren Parker, and Richard McNeal. They stayed by him and took him to his appointments while battling his bout with pancreatic cancer. Lenny was a ladies man. If you wanted his attention, mention a woman and he would be all ears and that was even in his last days. He was truly an honorable, well-respected man that lived with dignity and would give his friends and family his absolute last at any time. Nothing brought Lenny greater joy than creating memories with those close to him. Lenny most memorable event was throwing his Mom an 84th birthday celebration. Lenny loved his mom and was so ecstatic from being able to throw her a “ Holy Ghost “ party that it brought him tears. He was the youngest of seven children; Cleola Henry, Terry Daughtry and Curtis Crudup preceded him in death. Lenny leaves to cherish his precious memory: a loving mother Ella Mae Crudup; two children Teyon Jamal Crudup and Tyshawn Marquell Crudup; one godchild Teyon Jamal Crudup, Jr. one brother Reginald Crudup; two sisters Barbara Blake and Rosetta Wilson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends
