Lenora E. Anthony

Lenora Elizabeth Anthony, daughter of late Luther Williams and Carolyn N. Carroll-Williams, was born on April 5th, 1955 in Jessup, Maryland. She transitioned to glory on March 26th, 2019. She graduated from Howard High in 1973. She also gave her life to Christ and joined the Obedience Church of God in 1973. She met the love of her life and soon to be husband Woodrow Anthony in that same year. In 1974, she attended BCCC for nursing. She later married Woodrow Anthony on her 20th birthday on April 5th, 1975. From this union came four children; Antoine, Kimberly, Shemeker and Candice. In 1976, she was elevated to the office of deacon at the Obedience Church of God, where she served as a songstress and worship leader. She was a devout woman of God and a prayer warrior who kept things in order in her home. She began working at C&P as a service representative in 1981 which later became Bell Atlantic then Verizon. She retired from Verizon in 2008. In 2006, she joined the New Freedom Baptist Church where she continued her service as a deacon. She served on both choirs the New Freedom Ensemble and the Voices of Praise ministry. She also served as a teacher to the youth and a preacher of the word of God. She flowed in gifts of healing, intercession and prayer. She was always willing and ready to pray at any moment. She loved arts and crafts, drawing and writing poetry and she loved horseback riding in her youth. She loved to be around her husband, children and grandchildren. She has touched the hearts and lives of many in her personal life as well as in ministry. She loved her family and most importantly she loved God. She leaves to continue her legacy: her husband, Woodrow Anthony, her children; Antoine Anthony (Tambra), Kimberly Jones (Carlo), Shemeker Anthony (Tee) and Candice Anthony. Her grandchildren, Key’Aira Mercer, Bri’ana Anthony, De’Quonte Green, Amaya Anthony, Dayla Green, Ayanna Anthony, Na’Zhey Anthony, Carlo Jones and Kennedy Jones and two great grandchildren Justice and Brielle Walters. Her siblings, James R. Myers, Darlene Taylor, Charles Williams, Carrie Williams, Luther Williams (Linda), Debra Brinson (Anthony), Antonio S. Washington, Antoinette S. Washington (David). She was preceded in death by her brother John T. Williams. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Gloria Barrow (Thomas), Mary Moss, and Larry Anthony and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
