Lemuel Young

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27On December 15, 2004, God reached down from his heavenly home and whispered softly to Lemuel, son come home.Lemuel Young was born on February 26, 1946 to Elaine Young in Goochland, Virginia. He was the eldest of two sons.He spent his childhood in Goochland, Virginia under the loving guidance of his Great Grandmother, the late (Mamma Lizzie) Allen and his aunt Madeline Jackson. At the age of nineteen, Lemuel then moved to Turners Station, Maryland with his Grandfather, Anderson Young, who preceded him in death.Lemuel was employed by Raymond Metals, Baltimore County Public School System and later retired from Bethlehem Steel Shipyard. For many years he was also employed by Mickey Refuse Company where he remained until his untimely illness.Lemuel had a great love for his family and friends and enjoyed traveling to Goochland, Virginia to spend many memorable hours with them attending all family gatherings. He especially enjoyed kidding with his aunts Loretta and Carrie. He also loved traveling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to visit with his loving mother, brother, aunts and other family.The true loves of his life were his only son Jason Young; daughter-in-law, Danielle, and two grandchildren, Da’Jaun and Alyssa. Lemuel was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He made great efforts to be a very supportive father to his son and was loyal and supportive to everyone with whom he came in contact. Lemuel had a tremendous love for working on cars and was diligent in having some type of employment.During his final days of his earthly life, Lemuel was surrounded by many loving and dedicated family and friends including: his mother, son and daughter-in-law, his caretakers; Carolyn Young, Dorothy Waddell, Vivian Thomas, Marvin Fletcher and David Owens.Lemuel accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in Jesus name. Lemuel will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.He leaves to cherish fond memories: a loving son, Jason Young; a daughter-in-law, Danielle Young; two grandchildren, Da’Jaun and Alyssa; his mother, Elaine Young; one brother, Thomas Young; six aunts, Madelina Jackson, Loretta Watson, Carrie Young and Christine Henley, all of Virginia, Ruth Wright of Pennsylvania and Carlene Griffin of Maryland; four uncles, Lewis, Beverly and Frank, all of Virginia, and Charlie Griffin of New Jersey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends
