Leanora C. Jackson

LEANORA CONOLLY JACKSON, entered this this world on August 4, 1950 and departed this earthy life on Thursday December 19, 2013 in Atlanta, GA. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Williams Lambert Conolly and Macie Winston Conolly. Her childhood years were spent in Sparrows Point, Md. Where she attended Union Baptist Church (Union Baptist Church relocated to Turners Station) under the leadership of Pastor Carlton Cooke and later under Pastor William Johnson. She also attended Sparrow Point High School and graduated in 1969. After graduation, she became employed at American National Can Company in Dundalk, Maryland until the company relocated to another state at which point she elected for early retirement. Also after graduating from school she married her high school sweetheart Richard L. Norman. The two were united in holy matrimony in 1970 at Union Baptist Church in Sparrows Point, Maryland. From this union, two children were born. Daughter Leanora Yvette Norman-Wade and a son Michael Lambert Norman. She then decided to attended Ron Thomas school of Cosmetologist and Barbering where she earned her license as a Cosmetologist in 1993. After receiving her cosmetologist license she married Rev. Melvin Jackson Sr., they united in holy matrimony at Calvary Baptist church in Baltimore, Maryland under Pastor Robinson in the year 2000. Shortly after relocating to Georgia, Leanora briefly became a business owner of a hair salon in McDonough, GA doing what she loved as a Cosmetologist. Soon after Leanora and Melvin settled in Georgia, they continued their evangelistic and missionary endeavors in such places as Africa and the Caribbean Islands, under Pastor Marvin Harris of New Life Baptist Church located in Decatur, Georgia. In her free time she loved to travel through the Caribbean Islands and cruising the Hawaiian Island. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and Bar-b-Que with her extended church family in Atlanta Georgia. Some of her specialties were southern style potato salad and baked goods such as cream cheese pound cake. Leanora also enjoyed creating floral arrangements that would light up any room. Also she never turned down a chance to play a competitive game of UNO with the people she loved. Prior to her own earthly departure she was preceded in death, by one brother, Lambert Alfredo Conolly, Baltimore, Maryland. Leanora Conolly Jackson leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, Rev. Melvin Jackson Sr. (husband), one daughter Leanora Yvette Norman-Wade, one son Michael Lambert Norman (Sabrina), One Step-daughter Stephanie Jackson Jackson and two step-sons Melvin Jackson Jr. of Detroit, Michigan and Steven Jackson of Baltimore Maryland. Two grandsons, Marquise Wade of Baltimore Maryland and Gavin Michael Bundy-Norman of Pennsylvania, two brothers, David Conolly of Grand Cayman, Cayman Island and Ollinger Numan Conolly (Eugena) Glen Burnie Maryland, One sister Eldeen Conolly Davis (John) Baltimore, Maryland, four nieces; Crystal Lett, Los-Angelas, Ca. Natasha Lett, Oakland, Ca., Allison Woolford (Harry), Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Christina Conolly-Wilson (Gregory), Chicago, Illinois, two nephews, David Conolly Jr., Virginia and Shane Conolly, Georgia, one aunt Violet Whyne, Sacramento, CA, one uncle Ernest Lee Winston, Baltimore, Maryland, Two extended grandchildren Breshanna Tutt and Isaac Railey and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and widespread church family and friends .
