LaToyria Tamica Terri Wise-Banks

On November 26, 1982 in Baltimore, Maryland LATOYRIA TAMEKA TERRI WISE-BANKS was born to Carole Michelle Thames and Steven Terry Wise. Latoyria married Steven Banks on October 15, 2010. To her family and close friends she was known as “Mica.” Latoyria quietly slept into eternal rest on Friday, November 30, 2012. Latoyria was baptized at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. At Saint Francis she received the Sacraments of Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. You would often find Latoyria and her grandmother praying and reading scriptures from the Bible. Latoyria’s faith was very strong and she always said she wanted to go to Heaven. Latoyria was educated in the Baltimore City School System and graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in June of 2000. She began to further her education at Baltimore City Community College. Latoyria was always interested in working in the healthcare profession. Latoyria began her career in healthcare administration at Sinai Hospital. Her places of employment included Park West, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Mercy Medical, Johns Hopkins Hospital at Greenspring Station, Johns Hopkins Hospital at Cromwell and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She touched many lives in the Johns Hopkins and Sinai Hospital Community. People who worked with Latoyria knew that she was committed to excellence, which gave others encouragement to do their very best. Latoyria loved to travel and was an excellent cook. One day Latoyria and her Aunt Karen drove to Washington, D.C. so Latoyria could try out for Master Chef. The lines were too long, so they returned home. Latoyria liked to go to the casino, play the lottery, watch reality television shows and the Food Network channel. Latoyria knew how to enjoy life. She had an upbeat and cheerful personality. She was a friendly, outgoing person and developed many lasting friendships. To know Latoyria was to love Latoyria. Latoyria leaves to celebrate and to cherish her memory: her husband, Steven Banks; mother, Carole Michelle Thames; father, Steven Terry Wise; sister, Cierra Plummer; two brothers, Cyril Plummer and Chance Plummer; two stepdaughters, Ayana Banks and Brittany Banks; maternal grandparents, Earnett and Pearl Thames; paternal grandparent, Henry Lee Wise (Annie Sue Wise preceded in death); seven aunts, Virginia Cochran preceded her in death), Phyllis Miller, Renee Edwards (Jerimiah), Vernell Thames, MaLisa Thames, Karinthia Thames, Teresa Craig (Jerome) and Demerious Wise; four uncles, James Miller (preceded in death), Dennis Black (Rose), Henry Wise (Barbara), Eric Wise (Angela) and Tony Wise; devoted cousin, Sherrill Brown; special friends, Quiana, Ebony and Kalil; two godchildren, Zamora Muldrow and Kennedy Smith.
