The Legacy of LaToya Ashley Brown Back For One Day If I could come back for just one day I know exactly what I would say to my family and friends and those who I love as a message from God who speaks from above I would say its okay to be sad for awhile but what I really want most is to see your smile And for you to go on and live once again Allowing the Lord to comfort your pain I know that you loved me with all of your heart And that none of you wanted for me to depart I don’t quite understand it myself But I know you’ll get by with a little help Yes, I would say to be sad for a day And to do what you need to do; And then lift up your eyes to the wonder of the sky And know that I loved you too. Wanda N. Wolfe Our beloved LaToya A. Brown, 26, was born in Richmond, Virginia on July 7, 1987 to John C. and Brenda Brown. She was called home to be one of God’s angels Tuesday, April 1, 2014. LaToya was affectionately known by her family and friends as Toya. She received her formal education and graduated from New Kent High School in New Kent, Virginia. LaToya accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, in 1997 at the age of 10 and was united with Second Liberty Baptist Church. She adored her church family as much as her own. Toya was an outstanding example of a very giving human being whom always managed to somehow put others beyond herself and her needs. She cared deeply for her friends, family, and all of her loved ones to a great extent. She gave love to everyone around her. Her spirit was warm and caring with an undying love for her son Brandon. Our Toya was a true reflection of God’s love! Toya was employed by the Richmond City Police Department as a Communication Officer I for three years and two years for the Charles City Sheriff Department. She was a hard worker that never complained. She cherished life and all that it stood for. No matter what she went through, she always put others first. She was a woman that was kind, loving and very caring who loved having fun. Toya’s passion was spending quality time with Brandon, her family and baking delicious goodies. Toya touched so many in so many ways and will be truly missed by all, however don’t fret. She will always be with us deep in the recesses of our minds and in our hearts until we too are called home and meet her in the afterlife. We will never allow the light to flicker and continue to carry her torch to eternity. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Brandon Foster; devoted father and stepmother John C. and Evangeline “Momz” Brown; loving mother, Brenda Cousin; one sister, Tanika Yarbrough; two brothers, Antonio Bowman and Kobé Cousin; grandmother, Rose Price; one nephew; one devoted uncle June Brown; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. There’s A Special Angel In Heaven There’s a special angel in heaven that is a part of me. It is not where I wanted her to be, but where God wanted her to be. She was here but just a moment like a night time shooting star. And though she is in Heaven she isn’t very far. She touched the hearts of many like only an angel can do. I would’ve held her every minute if the end I only knew. So send this special message to heaven up above. Please take care of my angel God and send her all my love. I Love You...Brandon
