Larry H. McDaniel

On August 18, 2017, Heaven's gates opened to welcome Larry H. McDaniel he transitioned from this life after a brief illness. Larry affectionately known as Woe Wee, was born to the late Helen and Henry McDaniel in Baltimore, Maryland on August 31, 1948. He received his education through the Baltimore City Public School system. Larry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early and baptized at Mt. Camel Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Immediately after graduating from high school Larry worked for Sears, Roebuck & Company as a Master Mechanic. His employment was interrupted when he was drafted into the United Stated Army 1968. Larry served with a unit known as "Hell on Wheels" and was stationed at post in both North Carolina and Texas . After his duty in the Army ended he returned to his job at Sears, Roebuck & Company. He later worked for the Baltimore City Housing Authority as a Maintenance Mechanic until he retired in 2015. Larry married Chantea Reynolds in 1970. Three children were born from their union: Melisa Onis, Patricia, Katina, Corey Haze. There was a special bond between Larry and his grandson Ryan, who nicknamed "Boonie" ; and what a blessing it was to have his son Corey as his own personal barber Larry and Chaneta divorced in 1983, but remained friends. Larry didn't miss many family gathering s. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, especially Marlon and David. The three of the them were inseparable and some people jokingly called them "The Three Stooges". Spending time with Larry could mean anthing from fishing watching an old Western on TV, helping out with home improvement project, or helping him figure out how to use his "smartphone." Larry was fortunate to experience love again with his companion Sylvia Mitchell. They spent many years together and he cherished her companionship greatly. Sylvia was a devoted partner and remained by Larry's side even though his final moments. Larry knew something about everything. Even though he was a man of few words, he unselfishly offered himself to anyone who needed help or advice. He was a Jack of all Trades and Master of Most. Larry's favorite pastime was cooking. He was meticulous with the planning of his meals always ensuring that the flavors were just right. Music was another favorite of Larry's. He enjoyed "oldies but goodies, but could also listen to the new-school hits are popular today. Left to cherish memories are four children; Melisa Wright -Ellison (Mark), Patricia Radford (Martin), Corey "Jabari" McDaniel & Anastasia Anderson; Seven sisters, Mary Fountain (Alvin), Anna Hough, Marlon Cousins (Sydney), Stephanie Drayton, Rhonda Robinson (William), Aretha Burley (Herschel), Anita Lewis ; Six Brothers, David McDaniel (Linda), Maurice Lewis , Patrick Lewis, Gregory Lewis, Nicholas Lewis (Pearl), Shawn McDaniel (Shanell); 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren a devoted companion of many years Sylvia Mitchell and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
