Larry Burnette Hall, Sr.

Larry Burnette Hall, Sr. was the middle child of the late Freddie L. Sr. and Thelma H. Hall. He was born on November 15,1946 in Richmond,Virginia. Larry Burnette Hall, Sr. went peacefully asleep in Heaven on Friday,January 28,2011. Larry attended the Richmond Public school system,graduating from Armstrong High School in 1964. Larry joined the United States Air Force(USAF) on June 1,1969. While in the USAF he earned the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged on August 17,1973. Larry's service to the United States included time spent in Taiwan and Vietnam. Larry met and fell in love with Shirley Temple Macon. They married on August 10,1974 in New Kent,Virginia. From this union of 36 years,came two children;Larry,Jr. and Kieshawna Hall and a dedicated daughter-in-law,Deirdra. In addition to his children,he leaves three grandchildren;Ya'Kyra Shelton,Evan Dew and James Dew Hall. He also leaves one surviving brother,Calvin Hall,Sr.(Linda),a devoted friend,Talitha Potter and a devoted cousin,Coretta Loftin,whose sons were his god-children;Cyrus and Carel. Larry also leaves many other relatives and friends. Larry was a faithful member of Lebanon Baptist Church and served on several ministries. These ministries included;the position of Deacon(until he could no longer serve). Missionary Ministry,Men's Ministry,Voices for Christ Choir and the Men's Chorus. Sundays were a favorite day for Larry,as he was an enthusiastic Washington Redskins fan. When not watching football,you would often catch him relaxing,watching an old Western movie with his feet up. Next to his relationship with God,the most important role in his life was that of a devoted husband. Larry never missed a birthday,anniversary or Valentine's Day.Larry believed it was important to take his wife out for dates and to spoil her rotten. In addition to this,he also cherished his role as father,grandfather,brother,uncle and dear friend. Larry's favorite Bible verse was Psalm 100:"Make a Joyful noise unto the Lord,all ye lands.Serve the Lord with gladness:come before his presence with singing.Know ye that the Lord he is God:it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves;we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise:be thankful unto him and bless his name. For the Lord is good;his mercy is everlasting;and his truth endureth to all generations." We know that Larry is now making a Joyful Noise! And will be dearly missed but remembered for his never ending kindness and endearing smile.
