Lakiia D. Harden

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. II Timothy 4:7-8 Lakiia Danielle Harden was born on December 23, 1974 to Jane Harden and the late Pete Carter in Baltimore, Maryland. On October 23, 2014, God in His infinite wisdom very quietly and peacefully called her home to rest. LaKiia attended BCCC where she earned her GED. Later she enrolled in Massage Therapy School working towards her certification. Early in LaKiia's childhood she was given the nickname 'Dani" and you either called her Dani, Kia or playfully "Rebecca" which was the name given to her while attending Catholic School. LaKiia enjoyed dressing up and going out with family and friends. Oh she was real stylish and loved sporting different hairdo's that so accentuated her beautiful smile. Yes, she was a true fashionista. LaKiia especially enjoyed talking to her mother, Jane and her daughter DeAirra who were the loves of her life. LaKiia was more than just a mother. She was a very special daughter, granddaughter, niece and a dear friend. She was truly Dedicated to inspiring others, Inviting with her warm infectious smile, Vivacious with her unique style and an Advocate for the youth and young adults she would counsel at Sheppard Pratt and Hickey School - yes a true DIVA. Many times LaKiia would speak in a positive way about the patients she was charged to care for at work. She enjoyed family and friends. She loved hanging out or having casual conversation with her dear cousins, Crystal, Teshia, Lamont, Candis, Ashley, Destiny, Tyra and Tiffany. She also enjoyed spending good quality time with many friends, especially her Walmart buddy Joan and restaurant buddy, Kerthia. Dani, also shared quality time with her dear grandparents Clarice and Jerry Harden Sr. She would always call on her Aunt Gail and Aunt Princess to talk or go to Farmer's Market. She would call her uncles Jerry Jr. and Ronald just to say, "Hey," or to invite them over for a meal. LaKiia leaves to cherish her memory: her beautiful mother, Jane; lovely daughter, DeAirra; grandparents, Jerry Sr. and Clarice Harden; Uncle Jerry Jr., Ronald, Aunt Gail and Aunt Princess (Clarice); and a host of very dear relatives and friends.
