LaKeisha NicoLe steveNsoN was born on February 6, 1975 in Baltimore, Maryland. She passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 50. LaKeisha’s life was a testament to the love and joy she brought to everyone who knew her. LaKeisha’s life was filled with kindness, creativity and love. LaKeisha’s educational journey began at Northwood Elementary School and continued through Chinquapin Middle School, culminating in her graduation from Baltimore City College. Her intelligence and ambition were evident early on, as she aspired to become a doctor, committed to a career in the medical field. She earned a phlebotomy certificate, taking a meaningful step toward her goal. In addition to her passion for medicine, LaKeisha also had a deep love for cooking. She pursued this interest by enrolling in Baltimore International College, where she earned a specialized degree in Culinary Arts. Her love for the culinary arts remained constant throughout her life, often catering events and joyfully cooking for family and friends. Beyond her culinary talent, LaKeisha was also a gifted artist. She had a passion for drawing and painting still-life, using her artistry as a means of emotional expression and personal relaxation. Her artistic spirit, compassionate nature, and dedication to her many passions left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Above all, LaKeisha cherished her role as a grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless - gentle and filled with pride. She celebrated their every achievement, comforted them in times of need, and filled their lives with love, laughter and care. Her unwavering support will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, whom she loved more than words can express. Another pivotal part of LaKeisha’s beautiful journey was the love she shared with James Coppage. Their story began in 2017 and from that moment on, they were truly inseparable. Together they created a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support - often traveling, cherishing each other’s company and building memories that would last a lifetime. Their love, deep and enduring, led them to unite as one in marriage on June 19, 2023. May the memories they created together live on and never be forgotten. LaKeisha’s legacy will live on - a radiant light that continues to shine in all our hearts. She touched the lives of so many with her warmth, compassion, and quiet strength. Her presence was a gift, her love a constant comfort and her spirit a source of inspiration. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be a part of us. Let us hold close the joy she brought, the laughter she shared, and the kindness she gave so freely. LaKeisha leaves behind cherished memories with her husband, James Coppage; three daughters, Jamira Goodman, Mya Elickson, Taija Elickson; six grandchildren, Jameir Collins, Zaire Pinder, Jasir Pinder, Zalyn Rivers and Tatum Booker; mother, Deborah Underwood; father, Nathan Stevenson; stepmother, Thera Stevenson; three sisters, Chrystal Cooper, Natarsha Banks, Ashley Stevenson; niece, Jada Holmes; three nephews, Karlin Cooper, Darrin Perry, Jr. and Jaden Johnson; two best friends, Stacy Bunch and Rhonda Moseley and a host of other family members and friends.
