Kyle Matthew Anderson

Kyle Matthew Anderson, son of Bernadette and the late Paul Anderson, was born November 11, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the eldest of three children. On wings of angels, the Lord called him home to eternal rest on Thursday, November 24, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Kyle received his early education at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic school in Baltimore, Md. There he developed a strong devotion for his Christian faith. He furthered his education in Baltimore City Public Schools, attending Lemmel Junior and Northwestern Senior High Schools. Later, Kyle matriculated as Towson University and Coppin State where he became a member of Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society. Kyle graduated Cum Laude from Coppin State, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science. Following graduation, Kyle began his career with HUD in the Federal Government. He received several promotions which led to his most recent position of Asset Management Branch Chief. Kyle was well respected and loved by his co-workers, some saying that he was the greatest boss that they had ever had. Kyle retired from the Federal Government after 31 years of service in November 2015. Kyle's strong religious beliefs became the backbone to his commitment to his family, friends, co-workers, community and ti his Savior. Each Sunday, until his illness made it too difficult, Kyle began his day with his family attending Mass at New All Saints Catholic Church. This often would be followed by time spent with friends and family perhaps viewing football games, participating in fantasy football, playing a card game or gathering to eat crabs. Kyle truly enjoyed time spent with friends and family. Kyle was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at Towson State University in the spring of 1980. In February 1982, he was among a number of Kappa brothers who became charter members of the Lambda Zeta Chapter at Towson. As an undergraduate Kappa, Kyle was known for his extraordinary work ethic on behalf of the chapter and his vast knowledge of parliamentary procedures- Robert Rules of Order- employed to conduct chapter business. He held a number of leadership positions within the chapter, including Keeper of the Records and Exchequer and Historian. He also served as an advisor to Lambda Zeta as a member of the Baltimore Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. He was a dedicated member of his fraternity. Kyle was and avid golfer for 30 years who won many golf tournaments and enjoyed giving lessons and tips to newcomers of this sport. He loved watching countless hours of golf on television and just recently attended "The Masters Golf Tournament" in Augusta Georgia with friend, Fred Ramsey. Kyle, along with others, frequented a variety of challenging golf courses in the Maryland/ Pennsylvania are often as twice, weekly. He was affectionately dubbed, "Commissioner of Golf" by his friends and associates when he took on the responsibility of planning and coordinating golfing trips to Florida and Myrtle Beach, annually. Family meant everything to Kyle was always a willing participant in anything that the family did. It was not unusual for Kyle to accompany his aunt to an all day event at the Preakness, walk a nervous bride down the aisle or to wear a silly Christmas hat to entertain the elderly. Anything that his family did, Kyle chose to be involved. Kyle chose to be involved. Kyle also did an annual Mother's Day Luncheon for mothers, aunts and friends and each year, took great pride in selecting and personally decorating a Christmas tree for his Mother. These special time spent with Kyle will always be treasured. Kyle had other activities that he enjoyed, as well, such as jazz.. both old and new, watching old movies, especially sitcoms and westerns and grilling good food such as ribs and steak. Kyle also enjoyed gardening. Each year he was proud of the juicy red tomatoes, spring onions and peppers that he was able to produce and share with other. Kyle took pride in everything that he did. Kyle is survived by: his mother, Bernadette Anderson; two sisters Ivy Lawal and Holly Archer; brothers-in-law, Abdulmojeed Lawal and Jereleigh Archer; nephews, Ahmed, Kareem, Malik Lawal, Jerel and Jared Archer; aunts, Terry Anderson, Carla Jones and Rita Martin; and great-aunts, Ivy and Dottie Hayes. He is also survived by a large extended family and his dearest friends, Stewart Beckham, Fred Ramsey, Larry "Money" Frazier (Fraternity Brothers and Golf Partners) Durann Thompson. When the end approached, Kyle faced it as he had faced his long illness and he way he lived his life....with dignity, strength and love. Kyle will be missed ... his soft voice, his gentle smile, his kindness, his thoughtfulness, the way in which he carried himself, his witty responses and his devotion to his family.
