Kirk Joseph Carter

KIRK JOSEPH CARTER, son of Yolanda Jones and Kirk A. Carter was born on June 10, 1988 in Baltimore, Maryland. Kirk departed this life suddenly on October 6, 2010. Shortly after the birth of Kirk, he was given the nickname “Manny” by his mother and father. The nickname stuck with Kirk throughout the rest of his life which suited him as if it were his birth name. Manny loved the outdoors and nature, enjoying activities such as crabbing and fishing which he did with his father. One f his favorite television programs was “River Monster”. Growing up Manny was very outgoing and adventurist which earned him the name “Crash Dummy” for always falling and hurting himself. Upon Manny entering his teenage years and coming into his younger manhood he was given a second nickname “Loaf” by his friends of the Westport Community for his light bright complextion. Like many, Manny went through his fair share of ups and downs over the past years, but through determination and perseverance he was well on his path to being and becoming a productive young man Manny discovered Jesus Christ on January 3, 2010 and became an active member of Bethany Baptist Church. Manny became so serious with his relationship with the Lord that he ultimately was baptized on May 2, 2010. After the baptism Manny felt renewed and knew he had the shield of God to protect and guide him. Manny received his G.E.D. in 2006 and recently was employed full-time at the Aloft Hotel as a Shuttle Driver. Manny was preparing attendance to school early next year to become an electrician and then attend college to become a Zoologist as his career. Manny met the love of his life on June 18, 2007, Jelina Comittino who he affectionately called “his Butta” to “his Loaf”. Jelina and Manny shared many beautiful moments over the past three years and exchanged rings to one another on each other’s birthdays in 2008. With all Kirk’s hopes and dreams he leaves to mourn: his mother, Yolanda Jones; father, Kirk Alvin Carter; grandmothers, Helen Jones and Saundra Carter; three aunts Sharlene Roberson, Tammy Jones, Jessica Jones and Robin Carter; uncle, Jeffrey Hayes; four sisters, Christina Jones, Jessica Jones, Rebecca Carter and Amanda Carter; three brothers, Dominique Carter, Samuel J. Jones and Nicholas J. McDaniel; two nieces and four nephews; two special childhood friends, Damien Gary and Darin Symptom; loving girlfriend, Jelina Comittino; special cousins, Christopher Robertson, Felicia Jones, Matthew Jones and Brittany Jones; host of relatives and friends. Kirk will be joined in heaven by his grandfather, Samuel W. Jones and cousin, Timothy J. Roberson, who preceded him in death.
