Kevin A. Hudson

KEVIN ANTONIO HUDSON, SR., son of William Lee Hudson and Frances Hudson, was born on December 21, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. God saw fit to call Kevin to eternal rest on the early morning of July 22, 2014, after a lengthy illness, at his home in Cockeysville, Maryland. Kevin received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He attended City College and participated in advanced placement studies at The Gilman School. "Chopper" (a nickname given by his mother) participated in various sports such as boxing, wrestling, football and martial arts. His favorite subject was "History" and he loved to read. Kevin had a vast interest in cooking as this was his greatest hobby. He was hired as a cook by Pocaro's Restaurant in Towson, Maryland, which later relocated to Little Italy. He became the restaurant's ultimate Chef and received numerous catering service opportunities. Kevin later transitioned to a new career at Kennedy Krieger Institute in the facilities department, where he spent over twentyfive years exercising his second hobby as the "ultimate handy man." Kevin loved music, especially jazz, doo-wop, classic R&B, gospel and talk radio. Kevin was a serious hand-dancer; whenever a good song came on, you could count on good ole Kev to bust out with what was called the infamous "drop-toe cross-legged spin move" while dropping to his knee (the family knows that move). Kevin had an extremely kind heart and relished opportunities to serve everyone in any capacity needed. He was a very genuine person who enjoyed laughter and good times. He was very fatherly to all young people; and his famous saying was, "I'm not trying to preach to you." He leaves to mourn: his parents, Frances and William; his wife, Felicia; two daughters, Shontae S. Hudson-Turner (Clayton) and Maiyah Hudson; sons, Kevin Hudson Jr., Keith Hudson, James Diggs and Ashford Diggs; seven grandchildren, KeAnte, Kendal, Hayden, Essence, James Jr., Mason and Ah-Mauri; sister, Valerie; six brothers, William Jr., Jerome, Thomas, Jermaine, Terrence and Garfield; mother- and father-in-law, William and Yvonne; four sistersin- law, Michon, Wanda, Denise and Tasha; goddaughter, Precious Love Taylor and godson, Andrew Morgan; his first wife and mother of his oldest children, Robin Hudson (who remained a devoted and dear friend); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
