Kevin B. Hooker, Jr.

KEVIN BLAND HOOKER JR., a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, grandson, and friend, passed away on April 3, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1987, and throughout his life embodied strength, wisdom, and quiet leadership. Kevin was a very strong, cool, laid-back, mature, and patient man. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried meaning and were always understood. He was a quiet yet powerful leader someone who led by example—and his presence brought calm and confidence to those around him. Beyond his accomplishments, Kevin deeply valued family time. Whether it was being present, sharing moments, or simply being around those he loved, family meant everything to him. He also had a strong passion for boxing, enjoying both the sport and everything that came with it—it was one of the many things that brought him joy and connection. Kevin graduated from Walter Biddle Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, Class of 2005. He earned an Associate of Science in Information Technology – Multimedia (2009) and an Associate of Science in Information Technology – Computer Network Systems (2010) from ITT Technical Institute. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from the University of Baltimore (2013) and a Master of Professional Studies in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (2015). He obtained numerous certifications including Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (Routing & Switching), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core, Certified Ethical Hacker, and many more. Kevin worked as an IT Specialist for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, where he was respected for his expertise and professionalism. Kevin’s legacy of strength, intelligence, and quiet leadership will live on forever. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Cynthia L. Bryant; father, Kevin B. Hooker Sr.; dad, Troy R. Bryant; godmother, Shirley Duncan; brothers, Keone B.K. Love and Kamonte B. Hooker; sisters, Tori L. Bryant and Rachel Flemming; sister-in-law, Marnier C. Love; nieces, Zya, Aria, Ava and Jessica; nephews, Levi and Amir; aunts, Sereathia, Carla, Michell and Melissa; uncles, Vernon, Gary and Terry; a host of other relatives, friends, and co-workers.
