Kevin Devon Harris

Kevin Devon Harris 31, of Riclnnond, Virginia peacefully transitioned to heaven on January 16, 2017. He was born October 19, 1985 to John K. Harris and JaPata Stokes Harris. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Melvin R. Stokes, paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Francis Harris,uncle Reuben (Scodey) Stokes and aunt Joletta D. Stokes. Kevin attended Jacob L. Adams Elementary School, Fairfield Middle School, and Highland Springs High School, where he graduated in 2003. Upon graduating high school, Kevin attended Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. Kevin was a natural and agile athlete thus; he had a passion for all athletics, such as basketball and baseball. As a young energetic child, Kevin played Little League football for the Glen Lea and Highland Springs associations. As he matured into a young man he played basketball with the Bethlehem Baptist Church Lads and Crusaders, Riclnnond Metro Gold (AAU), U-Turn (AAU), and played point guard for Highland Springs High School. Kevin not only excelled on the court but, his skills extended to the football field as well. He played running back and quarterback for Highland Springs High School. He was a genuine, loyal Dallas Cowboy's fan and took pride in collecting team memorabilia. Kevin was employed at Haverty's Furniture as a fork lift driver and warehouse specialist. Kevin leaves to cherish fond memories to his loving and devoted mother, JaPata D. Stokes, his father John K. Harris, two sisters, Taylor D. Stokes, KeShawn Minor and a nephew,faithful and loving grandmother Doris A. Stokes, uncles; Melvin (Nettie) Stokes, Randall (Susan) Stokes, and aunt Terethia Anderson,great aunts, Gwendolyn (Ethan) Pitts, Lois Anderson and Constance Anderson,great uncles, Reverend E. Walter Anderson (Lois), Reginald Anderson and Lewis Anderson, God parents and Great Uncle and Aunt, Herbert and Emma Anderson. Three God sisters, Angela, Latonia, and Kenya Anderson. Great uncles, William (Mattie) Robinson, James (Marie) Robinson and George (Sally) Harris,devoted cousins Daniel (Meaghan) Stokes, Faye Pryor, Tiffany Gates, and MiTone' Barnes and a host of many other loving cousins and relatives, special aunts, Tannny Shipman, Frances Chatman, Vicki Bradley, Linda Putman, Joan Green,special uncles, Greg Taylor, George Green, Gordon Craig, Marcellus Lipscomb a host of many close friends, among them Robert Putman and Jason White, and his loving Pit-bull "Ciroc". Kevin was affectionately known as "NuNu" to Reagan, Triniti, Daniel Jr., Robert Jr. and Jesiah. He will be forever remembered for his love of family and friends, charming wit, stylish dress, and kindness of heart.
