Kevin Sherrod Burson

Kevin Sherrod Burson was born October 5, 1968 to Rose Burson Bugg and Ernest Burson Jr. in Richmond, Virginia. He answered his Heavenly Fathers call and departed this life on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He entered into eternal rest as his mother sat at his bedside, now Kevin is standing behind the pearly gates of heaven looking down. Kev as he was affectionately known by his family and friends. He accomplished his Junior High education in Giesson, Germany. His formal education was in the Richmond Public School System and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He furthered his education by attending Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Spiritually, his life profoundly reflected his love of God. He was a member of First Union Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Male Chorus, Men’s Ministry and formally was a Sunday School Teacher. He loved his church family as his own. He was unmovable in his faith, which ran deep through times of struggle and happiness. Kevin never doubted God’s love for him. He is home in Heaven, dear ones; oh so happy and so bright! Kevin was employed by the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals as a Deputy Clerk/Case Administrator for the last 10 years. Time is not measured by the years we live, but by the deeds that we do and the joys that we give. Socially, Kevin was an avid salsa dancer, traveler, golfer and tennis player. However, most of all he enjoyed cooking and entertaining his family and friends. He was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron (ΦΥΟ) and enjoyed the fellowship of the brotherhood. Kevin will be remembered for his gentle, kind disposition and all the love he always showed his family. May the love of God be with him eternally! His legacy of unconditional love, self-sacrificing service to others and his unwavering faith in God will remain forever in our memories. He leaves to cherish his memory loving parents, Rose Burson Bugg and Ernest Burson Jr.; uncles, William, Charles (Dorothy), Hezekiah, Frank Mullins, Roy (Della) and Louis Burson; aunt, Patricia Mullins-Hite; a host of other relatives and friends, among them, devoted Charles Elmore Sr. and Joe Coleman Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. We will miss you Kevin, your wit, your sweet soul, but now you’re with God dancing on the streets of GOLD.
