Journey Begins…. “Cast your burdens on the LORD, and he will sustain you” - Psalm 55:22 A Time to be Born... Kevin Dewitt Allen, son of Hattie Mae Holmes Allen and Robert Lee Allen Sr., was born on December 6, 1967, in Brooklyn, New York. He was one of four children. Kevin crossed over to Jordan’s River on August 11, 2024, after a lengthy illness. A Time to Grow… Kevin was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He attended Montebello Elementary School. He pursued employment with Baltimore Health Care System and worked various jobs as a floor tech. Kevin enjoyed working and seeing others smile as he washed cars for a hobby. He enjoyed spending private time with his family spilling tea, laughing, cracking jokes and just having fun with one another. Kevin loved listening to music, with his favorite songs being “The Best in Me” and “Never Would Have Made It” by Marvin Sapp, because the words sang his life story. Kevin enjoyed engaging in conversations with everyone as if he had known them for a long time. Kevin enjoyed buying his family gifts for every occasion Kevin was a stylish and fashionable man who loved tennis shoes, sweat suits, and hats. He had a habit of maintaining cleanliness whenever he entered a room. Kevin was a unique man and will be missed by everyone that knew him. A Time to Love… Kevin was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Dewitt Allen Jr., as well as his grandparents and nephew. He greatly valued the time he spent with his family and held a deep affection for his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. He made it a priority to show his love by visiting them and giving gifts for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. He also cherished the enjoyable moments spent with his friends. A Time to Worship… Kevin accepted Jesus Christ at a young age. He was a faithful member and was baptized at Israel Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He held a profound appreciation for gospel music and valued the readings of Biblical scripture. Throughout his illness, Kevin’s parents faithfully played a daily significant role in his comfort by consistently sharing gospel music and scripture readings, ensuring he felt surrounded by love and a sense of God’s presence. A Time to Die… God saw that the time for rest was needed, and the hills were getting harder for Kevin to climb. After a long battle of illness, Kevin reached out to the Master’s hand to take him to his enteral home on the Sunday morning train, August 11, 2024. A Time to Mourn… He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted parents, Mother Hattie Mae Holmes Allen and father Robert Lee Allen Sr. Allen; bonus mother, Pastor Barbara Allen; and bonus father, Raymond Watts; two sisters, Wanda Allen, Tonia Jackson (Jenard); three brothers, Shaun Allen, Robert Allen Jr. (Tosha), Pastor Christopher B.
