June Charmaine Carter Rattliff

Our beloved June Charmaine Carter Rattliff entered into eternal rest on Friday July 20, 2012. She was preceded in death by her Father Junius Carter, Sr. June was educated in the Richmond Public School System. Anika June’s first born daughter was born in October of 1975. June graduated from Huguenot High School in 1976. After, high school June attended J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College. In 1982, her only son JaMaal was born. June was a hardworking single mother during that time that provided her kids with stability and everything that they ever needed and wanted. In 1985, June became employed at Bellwood Defense General Supply Center in Chester, Virginia. In 1988, June married Franz and in 1991 their daughter Chanell was born. June enjoyed traveling, reading and loved to cook but most of all she loved to make others happy. It didn’t matter who you were once you met her you loved her and if she loved you then her impact on you would never be the same. She retired from Bellwood Defense General Supply Center in 2010 due to poor health after 25 years of service. But her spirit still remained strong and she continued to light up the room whenever she was in it. Her gift to make everyone she ever met just feel loved is indescribable. Whether she was cooking for you, buying you a gift, giving you a ride or just telling you something funny she was lighting up the room. Once you met her you would never forget her. June was a warrior and ultimate fighter who never gave up on anything or anyone. June lived, laughed, played but most of all she was full of love. She will be forever be missed. Her spirit carries on in her kids, grandkids and family. She was a great mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister,aunt and friend. The gifts of love that she left behind will always be cherished and forever be remembered. Rest in Paradise June. June is survived by her husband of 24 years, Franz Rattliff; two daughters, Anika Carter and Chanell Rattliff; one son, JaMaal Carter; grandson Jahmi Carter; mother, Nannie S. Carter; three brothers, Alvin Shelton (Joyce), Junius Jr. and Eric Carter; three sisters, Jerlis, Deborah and Carolyn Carter; two aunts, Mary Moore and Louise Jackson; aunt-in-law, Dorothy Shelton; devoted niece, Ari Washington; three step-daughters, Tierre Duke (Torry), Shautina Jones (Kenneth), and Francine Moses; three sisters-in- law Gloria Brown, Tara Griffin (Hugh) and Renee Rattliff, a host of other relatives and friends.
