Julius Richardson

Julius B. Richardson entered into life on September 28, 1926, born to the late Douglas and Rosa Richardson in Charleston, South Carolina. After a lengthy illness be peacefully entered in Heaven's Gates on Friday, April 8, 2016. Buster, or J.B. As he was known by all, was the oldest of four children, Leroy, Clarence and Annabelle all preceded him in death. Buster attended New York City Public Schools. He then joined the U.S. Army in 1946 an served in WWII. In 1948 he began his career at the United States Postal Service as a Mailhandler, but soon joined the Postal inspection Service. When he retired in 1988, Buster had 42 years of service with the United States Government. He was also an active member of VFW Post# 19 for 29 years. Buster married Noble Richardson and out of that union they were blessed with children, Patricia Cox (who preceded him in death), and Douglas Richardson. In 1970, Buster married Joanne Richardson. He became a father to and helped to raise Joanne's three children, Glenford, Michael, and Cheryl Sharp. Joanne preceded him in death. Buster had a heart of gold, if there was anything that he could do for you he never hesitated to do it. Buster enjoyed working in his garden and couldn't wait until it was time for it to be done. Buster loved hanging out with friends and listening to his old jazz collection. He was also an avid sports fan. He rotted for all of his beloved New York teams, but was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens teams too. He especially loved hanging out with his granddaughter Angie, she was his heart. Buster loved his grandchildren Darius, Ernie, Angie, Buster lived life to fullest and he was loved by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his passing: two sons; Douglas Richardson and Michael Sharp; daughter, Cheryl Sharp; son-in-law, Benjamin; granddaughters, LaShawn, Angie, and Lakisha; grandsons, Darius, Ernie, and Khevyn; great granddaughters, Harmoni; great grandson, Jaylen; nieces, Susan, Renee, and Sharon; nephews, Derrick and Lamont; two very special and devoted friends, Mr. Flexmond Grimes and Mr. Americus McIver; and a host of other friends and family. Buster's family would like to say a very special thank you to the University of Maryland 's Marlene & Stewart Greenbaum Cancer Center for the loving care they gave him during his illness.
