Joyce Ann James

JOYCE ANN JAMES, loving daughter of the late Walter L. and Josephine Johnson went from labor to rest on November 6, 2011. She was raised at Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Then she was baptized at Nazarene Baptist by the Rev A. Hall. She received her formal education from the Baltimore City public School System and earned a B.S. Degree from Coppin State College in Primal justice in 1983. Joyce was recognized as an outstanding student by America's Who's who Colleges and Universities. Joyce was gainfully employement ar various jobs including Union Memorial Hospital , Ganns Sewing Factory and later retiring from Good Sheppard Juvenile Center for Teenage Girls for fourteen years as a supervisor, due to illness. Joyce met married Arthur Lee James in 1962 and out of this union one son Robert James was born.“Judy Jane as she was very close to her famil. She enjoyed cooking and baking her favorite cake (pineapple upside down ). She and the family enjoyed and looked forward to the annual family reunions at the ancestral home located in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Her favorite place in Virginia was Colonial Beach, Virginia Joyce's favorite color was red. She had a very good sense of humor. Joyce words cannot express how much we truly love you and will miss you. Joyce was preceded in death by her son Robert James, grandson, Robert A. James; niece, Sanetha Johnson-Bey; nephew, Alexander Robertson-El; and brothers-in-law, William Morton. Joyce James leaves to praise her memory; one brother , Lenwood Johnson, three sisters, Freida “Penny” Morton, Linda Cooper and Rita Roberton-El; two grandchildren, Cierra Ellerbe and Marquise Addison; two great grandchildrennnnn Jkia Brooks and Zoey Aubrey James, twelve nieces and nephews, Angelisa Morton, Sharbert Morton, Darrell Morton, Michelle Morton, William Morton, Jr Terressa Cooper, Towanda Cooper, Larry Robertson-El, Jendayi Johnson Gantt. Betserai Johnson, Tyrone James and Cathy James; twelve great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Morton, Maurice Johnson-Bey Dante Aulton, Khan Williams, Victoria Oglesby, Deon Williams, Lenard Wooding, Tiffany Oglesby, Jazmyne Johnson , Darrell Morton, Jr Charlene Myers and Andrea Weaver, nine greatgreat-nieces and geat-great-nephews, Tykie Williams, Lakhan Williams Keiko Williams, Aprille Smith, Shomari Aulton, Darius Oglesby, Payton Stovens and Celestine Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Thomas L. Cooper and Larry Robertson-El; and one daughter-in-law, Hope Henson.
