Joseph Melvin Robinson,Sr.

Now there is everlasting peace, because The Angels Came. I can take my flight to heaven because The Angels Came! I can now rest in peace as I never could before, because The Angels Came. Joseph Melvin Robinson, Sr. was born on June 1,1942 to the late Bertha E. Washington in Richmond, Virginia. He answered heavens' call on Thursday, May 1,2014. He was preceded in death by his loving wife,Marie Robinson;mother,Bertha E. Washington;sister,Nancy Whitaker;and brother,Floyd Robinson. Joseph was educated in the Richmond Public Schools System. He was a dedicated worker who was known to take care of his sisters. His hard work ethics landed him a job at A. H. Robins where he was well respected upon retirement. Joseph,affectionately known to all as Brother Joe,was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in the 50's at then Apostolic Faith Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Sue I. Edwards. He respected leadership and was proud to let any and all he met know Bishop Suggs was his pastor and the New Covenant Apostolic Church was his church. His dedication is imprinted in our memory as he gave his former Pastor the first 10 cents from a day's earnings of 50 cents towards the building of the new sanctuary. God honored his servant's love for Him by hiding the Word in his heart. Joseph wore a friendly smile,was a willing helper,and a dedicated friend to those he called friend. And do know,Joseph was a die-hard Cowboy fan! Joseph was a distinguished member of the International F. & A.M. Masons & Order of the Eastern Stars. He was a member of the St. John's Lodge #5.King Soloman Lodge,Red House Department, Knights Temple and Shriners. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Marie Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memory,five sons and three daughters,Joseph M. Robinson,Jr.(Michelle),Gilbert Robinson(Lisa),Kimberly Eddings,and Sherri Robinson;Marjorie Smith,Reginald Smith,Rodney Peguese,and Ronald Peguese;17 grandchildren;nine great-grandchildren;four sisters,Betty Robinson,,Louise Allen,Joyce Henry(Hank),and Wanda Reynolds;and a host of nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends. His journey through life touched many lives...He will be greatly missed
