John Arthur Taylor

John Arthur Taylor was born on October 28, 1947 in Enfield, North Carolina. John was preceded in death by his parents Lynn and Lucille Taylor; sister. Amy Lee Hammiel; brothers Jack and James Taylor and grand-daughter Kyiah Taylor. During his childhood through teenage years, he assisted the family by picking cotton, tobacco and harvest to meet their needs. He then found a job at Myers Supermarket bagging and stocking to make money. John was so determined to graduate from Enborden High school, where he attended and did not walk the stage until age 21. Upon completion in 1969, he migrated to Richmond, Virginia. He started employment at David M. Lee Manufacturing, left there to seek “a better opportunity” and went to Phillip Morris, USA. In 1970, he decided to get a “bite to eat” and ran into the LOVE of his life, Ernestine E. Everett. After a year of courting, John decided to make her his wife and started a family. On May 17, 1976, he began working with Mondelez (formerly Nabisco.) John was a very dedicated, organized and hardworking man. His jobs consisted of line attendant machine operator, belt sewer and utility operator. John stayed at Mondelez for 38 years and retired May 2, 2014. In 2003, John became a part of the Antioch Church Family. He was active in the Men’s Ministry and attended the retreats and fellowships faithfully. During the Community Giveaways, he would assist in cooking and serving food. On special occasions, you would see him participating in the Men’s Mass Choir. John is survived by his wife ,Ernestine E. Taylor of 43 years; 1 son, Chester(Marleen);3 daughters,Frenchella,La’Tasha and Kimberly(Clintone);11 grandchildren,Kevon,Kierra,Shawn Sr. B.K.A. (Poohpa),Chelsea,Ro’Quaysia,Ro’Shawra,Kymari,Kykiah,Kyrese,Amaya and Sarai; 2 great grandchildren, Shawn Jr.,and Antwanasia;father-in-law,Raeford McLean;1 sister, Mary Baldwin(Clyde); 3 brothers, Spencer, Stoney(Elizabeth)and Donnie; 4 sisters-in-law, Katherine(Dennis) Otey,Nicole (Dwayne)Brown, Marion(Lawrence)Williams and Rachel(Wayne) Watson; devoted nephew, James Taylor; devoted niece, Thelma Harvey and 2 devoted friends Chante Johnson and Denise Otey.
