John T. Fields

On March 3, 1958, John Sr. and Agnes Fields of Baltimore, Maryland became proud parents of their second of two children; he was named JOHN T FIELDS, JR. He was also affectionately known to family and friends as “Bucky”.John was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Baltimore City College’s College Preparatory Curriculum in 1976. He furthered his formal education by attending Morgan State University in Baltimore, majoring in Business Administration. John initiated his professional career by attending and graduating from the Maryland State Police Academy. He later achieved Maryland State Trooper-First Class. John served the public community in this capacity for many years. He later diversified his career by serving in various capacities for Class Act Catering, Inc., by which he extended his love of public service. He loved exotic foods, sports, was an avid reader, and was always quick to give a compliment.John accepted Christ at an early age at Bethany Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland then under the leadership of Rev. Roland Johnson. There you found the young Bucky experiencing his early Christian development serving as an Usher and Choir member of the Roland Johnson Choral Ensemble. Later, Bucky joined The New Psalmist Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Walter S. Thomas. Bucky’s typical day began routinely with the reading of Scriptures. Bucky also was quite a dresser. All those who knew him marveled at his dapper sense of fashion and meticulous style.John was a very compassionate individual, often seeking to make life just a little bit easier for his neighbor. It was not uncommon to see him reaching out and touching the lives of some very special autistic children, encouraging them in times of trouble and despair. Bucky also nurtured and enjoyed a very close relationship with his niece and nephew, Natia and Justin, and was particularly instrumental in their guidance and development as fine young people.John is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rev. Agnes Norrine Fields.Bucky’s memory will be forever embedded in the hearts of many, and he leaves to carry on the Faith: his devoted father, Deacon John T. Fields, Sr.; one loving sister, Helen Fields-Moore; one niece, Natia Moore; one nephew, Justin Moore; seven aunts, seven uncles; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Moore; his former wife, Vickie Harris-Fields; many cousins; two devoted friends, Joseph Hill and Eugene Washington; and a host of extended family and friends.
