John Davis Hart

A Son, Brother, Uncle, Soldier and Friend Specialist John Davis Hart, III, known to many as "John Paul" was born to the late John Davis Hart, Jr. and Margarette Gibson on June 23, 1950. After battling several health issues, he peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on January 16, 2025, in Virginia. With his baby sister Maria and great-niece Ebony by his side. He was educated in the BCPS system and graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School. John loved his strong family ties and his siblings, enjoying their company while young and continuing to reach out on a regular basis when they left home. He had a strong desire for Photography. Having a special interest in taking snapshots of his family and friends. Soon branching out to special occasions and events for others. He was well known as the "Camera Man". Growing up, his siblings called him the "Professor", always having an answer for everything. John joined the United States Army in 1968. He served until being honorably discharged in 1972. During his time in active duty, he received awards and metals that included: Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign medals, and Rifle Sharpshooter. Upon his return from Vietnam, John explored employment that suited his outgoing personality. With a fondness for conversing and interacting with whomever he met. He especially liked exchanging ideas and conversations with varied opinions. As a dedicated worker, he chose employment that afforded him the opportunity to provide exceptional service and to communicate with his customers. He explored Entrepreneurship in several areas: Banquet and Catering, Cobbling and Shoeshine, Home Improvement, and his passion...Photography. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Richard, Joseph, Tyrone, Michael, and one sister, Frances, one cousin, James Boykins, one niece Donielle, and three nephews, Dewitt, Michael, and Frankeye. John leaves in mourning his last surviving sibling, Maria, who cared for him during his illness. As well as six nephews, five nieces, two sisters-in-law, and a host of other relatives, coworkers, and friends. All who loved him dearly. He leaves a legacy of love and laughter.
