John Addison

Of the late Maggie and Weldon Addison. God called John home during the Holy Season of Easter: He left us on Sunday, March 27, 2005. He was born August 18, 1948, in Rowland, North Carolina. He graduated from Southside High School. Following high school he enrolled in the U.S. Army for six years. It was at Southside High School where he met his future wife. It was also there that he learned the trade of home building under the leadership of his shop teacher, Mr. Jones. After his Army stay, he returned home and married the love of his life, Betty Hall. From this union two children were born, Kecia and John Keegon. John had many momentous occasions in his life. Among them God gave them a son (John Keegon) twelve years following the birth of his daughter (Kecia). Then the marriage of his daughter (Kecia) to her husband Michael Scott in November 2003. However, John's greatest occasion was his acceptance of The Lord Jesus the Christ as his personal Savior. Following his salvation John thirsted for the true knowledge of Jesus Christ. He was so Thankful that he had come to know Jesus because He blessed him and gave him peace and joy within. John attended Family Bible Study, Church School and Church Bible Study. He always attended the 7:30 a.m. Worship Service. He had planned to attend Easter Sunrise Service and sit by the window with his parents' name on it (sixth window from the front). He also enjoyed bowling with the Church league on Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m. He and his sister, Esther, were team mates. They last bowled as a team on Friday, March 25, 2005. John's Mom raised her nine children as nine Peas in a pod: "All for One and One for All". John is the first pea to leave the pod. We know he is somewhere around the Throne with Jesus, his Mom, Dad and the two nephews who went on before him. We loved John, and to cherish his memory. He leaves his wife Betty, his loving and caring daughter Kecia and his thankfulness and pride for his son, John Keegon; and a son-in-law Michael. The remaining eight peas, Sister Grace Bailey (Melvin), brother Sterling Addison (Gloria), Sister Loisteen McEachern, Sister Esther Roberts (Elmer), all of Baltimore, Brother Joseph Addison (Maezella), Sister Josephine Monroe (Eddie), Sister Luesther Watson (Harvey), all residing in North Carolina, and Brother William Addison (Vickie) hailing from Killeen, Texas. There is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins a few aunts and uncles, friends and a host of in-laws. Remember John as a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and a friend.
