REMEBERING JOE Mr. Joe Curbeam, son of the late Charlie Curbeam and Julia Robb were born on October 5, 1943, into on honorable union of siblings of which 7 preceded him by great welcome to heaven as he triumphs to eternal rest. In God’s glory. A health issue came upon Joe’s life unexpectedly causing him to be laid to rest. Joe received his education in South Carolina public schools at a young age. Joining Mt. Pilgrim Church & engaging in the baptism of the Holy Spirit was a godly adventure for him. With heartfelt desire. He was happy to fulfill the call of God by serving as a deacon in the house of the Lord. He had such a great passion for singing, and here's where he began to express his talent and gift to sing in the choi. In search of his career, Joe was inspired to become a brother and last uncle to his family. The Two Became One Joe married Beatrice Brice in 1963. This day became a part of the happiest day of his life, making new friends. He met Pastor Kent who invited him to become a part of the Apostolic Faith Church where he opened up service in song and scripture. Pastor Kent became his chaperone and best friend escorting him wherever he needed to go. The supermarket. Northeast market. And shopping at Foreman Mills. Look at God! Prayer spoke volumes to his journey of healing. About Him Joe was a very adventurous, kind, and thoughtful man who had many beautiful experiences in life. Entrepreneur of his own Wood Hauling Co. for many years Dad was affectionately known as “Pappa Joe” to all his grandchildren “Uncle Joe” to all his nieces nephews. He loved God, glorifying him in everything preach delighting himself in Psalm 23 for courage. He made numerous friends wherever we went. Captivated everyone with his elaborate smile. Joyfully; he loved God’s word. As a prayer warrior, he prayed and quoted scripture while singing gospel songs at 3;00 am., every morning. He made sure he was heard, declaring God’s word throughout his building making no apologies. No matter where Dad went he would burst out loud with a song; loving the center of attention. People loved to hear him sing. He was a confident. Determined, and very energetic fighter to win over his health challenge in this life., always willing to make anything happen. He believed in making sure all his business was straight while eating roasted peanuts, snickers bars, and all that he loved stuffed in a walker., Goodies were everywhere. How about being a big fan of cooking southern - style foods, fishing Cabbage, and corn beef. Dad was the laugh of the day or fight of the night. He enjoyed watching black and white movies in his favorite recliner. His Passions He loved playing the guitar which was the love of his life Special Love for Grands He had a special love for his Grands! He saved money for them for when they would come to see him (Lol) just cute. Cherished Memories He leaves to cherish his memories: Beatrice Curbeam wife of Baltimore, Maryland; 5 children, Joe Curbeam Jr, of Blackstock,South Carolina. Joe Curbeam of Baltimore, Maryland known as Herb has 13 grandchildren ,and 18 Great - Grandchildren. 2 Sisters; Rebecca Ray and Willie Mae Anderson of Dunbar, West, Virginia. A special caretaker Sheila at the rehab-center; 3 faithful friends, Mary Foster, Charlie Feaster, and Pastor Ken. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends of Baltimore and South Carolina. Don Curbeam, the unforgettable nephew he impeccably adored could never be replaced by anyone. He was very fond of you!
